November 24, 20241 yr Popular Post That win seals Venables for sure coming back. Most excellent turn of events.
November 24, 20241 yr OU rushing the field over a win? And it wasn't even a top 5 team? Take away their blue blood status.
November 24, 20241 yr Wow they rushed the field they are the same as tech well they are the tech of the SEC
November 24, 20241 yr I knew the pronouncements of OU football's demise were very premature. Hopefully this win is just a fluke.
November 24, 20241 yr they used to mock us for rushing the field. “That’s cute, I love that for you.” So sad, they really are mid these days, fuck em.
November 25, 20241 yr OU should really look at giving Venables a 10 year contract extension and a bunch more money.
November 25, 20241 yr Wonder if blOU considers Kevin Wilson to return as their offensive coordinator ??? 🤔
November 25, 20241 yr I feel like Tom Herman was watching Michael Hawkins on Saturday, salivating over trying to turn him into Ehlinger the battering ram 2.0 if he doesn't end up at Wisconsin to re-unite with Fickell, I wonder if BV calls him up.

November 26, 20241 yr The entire state is trash. Oklahoma's 3 FBS teams are a combined 3-19 in conference this year. OU 2-5 Tulsa 1-6 OK Lite 0-8

Yes you are correct, we are mid. How’s little brother doing this year? Oh shit, you boys have lost a whopping 9 games in a row. Did Pat Jones show back up and start running the show?

November 27, 20241 yr The game Saturday reminded me of this game. I suspect similar fools gold is afoot:
December 1, 20241 yr OU starts their SEC career 2-6 in conference, 6-6 overall, finishing tied for #14 overall in the 16-team conference. Brent Venables is safe as houses in his coaching seat despite losing 16 games in 3 years with a conference record of 12-14. They have the #13 class in 2025 and they're likely to lose their top dog (Fasusi). Their path forward, in their minds, is built largely on a sense of entitlement that they will be great because they have been great (which they have!). Arkansas 6-6 Oklahoma 6-6 Texas A&M 8-4 Texas 11-1 You love to see it.
December 2, 20241 yr Terrible lazy hire. I love it tho, we just hopped in the express lane to firing Brent.

December 2, 20241 yr Somebody with more knowledge tell me this isn’t the dud of a hire I think it is. Is this the best they could do?

December 3, 20241 yr Not sure what to think of this other than it seems to be a reach. As WKU co-OC/QB in 2022, he had QB Austin Reed, now a backup w/ the Bears. Reed ended the season with 4744 passing yards across 14 games and the team had a total of 7000 yards of offense. There was a notable dropoff in 2023 - Reed remained the QB. As WSU OC in 2023, he had QB Cam Ward (now at Miami). Ward had 3700 yards passing and the team had 5000 total yards across 12 games. As WSU OC in 2024, he had QB John Mateer. Mateer threw for 3200 yards and the team had 5200 yards across 12 games - and weaker schedule. There are indications that Mateer will enter the transfer portal. ESPN reports it is a 3 year contract.
December 3, 20241 yr Just now, Js1 said: Mateer has entered the portal. So which of Hawkins or Arnold is on the way out?
December 3, 20241 yr Reddit (the font of all knowledge) person following Utah indicates Arbuckle and Mateer were a package deal. UU was outbid. Could be wrong, but it smells like a good story
December 3, 20241 yr 16 minutes ago, Js1 said: Mateer has entered the portal. So which of Hawkins or Arnold is on the way out? Prolly Arnold. There is not one thing Arnold is better at than Mateer. They'll talk Hawkins into being the underclassman backup. Arnold is a complete and utter bust. If he stays, he's taking a pay cut. Five years from now, he'll be an insurance agent in Denton. December 3, 20241 yr I don’t know how anyone could have watched the game against Wyoming and thought that their offense is ready for the big leagues. Also, it’s hilarious with Arnold given how OU fans thought he was better than Manning.
