Short on NIL coin? Maybe OU's tranny former cheerleader can start donating proceeds from her "Nooners with Sooners" business.

Will BV hire Wes Goodwin -- was defensive asst for BV at Clemson

Coaching career (HC unless noted)

  • 2005–2008 Mississippi State (SA)
  • 2009–2011 Clemson (GA)
  • 2012–2014 Clemson (defensive analyst)
  • 2015–2017 Arizona Cardinals (assistant to the HC)
  • 2018–2021 Clemson (senior defensive assistant)
  • 2022–2024 Clemson (DC/LB)

Man, this really does not bode well for ou, imo. They first took Kendall Daniels from us, which sucks, but makes sense, even though if you ask OSU fans he missed a ton of tackles last year and looked lazy at times. But this guy? He started because the two guys ahead of him were injured and he's slow as fucking shit which is why we gave up so many goddamned massive run plays up the middle. He made some big tackles by being in the right place at the right time, to his credit, but if he's the type of player whose getting playing time on ou's defense, man, how the mighty have fallen.

They can have every damn defensive player from last season if they want 'em

Drumm/Parker are hinting that Knowles is in play to be the DC at ou

That would be an odd move unless they're money whipping him. There's supposedly been beef with Knowles and the DL coach, so maybe he's tired of that?

Absolutely no sense of irony.

Considering that 50 years ago,  OU was rewarded a MNC by the AP Poll even though they were on probation and banned from any bowl appearance.  AP Poll's position was that they are not in the business of policing college football.

It is hard to imagine a college football season where the national champion played no later than November 30.

Or that the national champion could lose to Kansas by 20 at home, like OU did the next year.

Come on down Mr. Knowles. We are so back!

On one hand, I don’t want him at OU because he’s an elite DC who’s given Sark trouble in the past.

On the other hand, he will either keep BV in Norman a little longer or get sent packing when BV gets canned.

Not sure which scenario I prefer. Probably option A.

Anything that can pump agonizing life into Venables is always the preferred option.

NORMAN — Curtis Lofton is stepping down as Oklahoma football general manager, he announced Thursday, after less than a year in the role.

Lofton wrote in a Facebook post his last day will be Feb. 1 and he's planning to pursue ministry.

"I want to take this moment to thank Athletic Director Joe Castiglione, President Joe Harroz and Head Coach Brent Venables for their unwavering support, leadership and guidance," Lofton wrote. "They've been instrumental in shaping my journey, and I am forever grateful for their influence in my life."

Lofton was officially named OU's general manager in June, helping lead the Sooners into a new era of college athletics.

The Sooners' former assistant general manager, Chuck Lillie, left to become West Virginia's general manager on Jan. 3.

OU announced a new football recruiting structure in July, which included Lillie, Lofton and a partnership with former Philadelphia Eagles Vice President of Football Administration Jake Rosenberg.

OU also announced a partnership with former AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson in December, rounding out "a more expansive general manager function," Castiglione said. Stephenson is serving as executive adviser to Harroz and Castiglione without a salary.

"It's not about the result; it's about the process — the journey," Lofton wrote. "Showing up every single day, with discipline and commitment — even when it's hard, even when no one's watching. But that commitment can only happen when you're doing something you love.

"In saying that, I have decided to step away from being the General Manager at OU."

Prior to being named the Sooners' GM, Lofton was the program's Director of SOUL Mission, serving as a mentor, role model and advocate for OU football players. Lofton was a standout linebacker at OU from 2005-07.

Lofton also enjoyed an eight-year pro career with the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints and Oakland Raiders.

OU finished with a 6-7 record and a loss to Navy in the Armed Forces Bowl in 2024.

The program is in the midst of a defensive coordinator search and a restructuring of its front office

I like the Cignetti prognosticators earlier in this thread. Old man’s IU team (not basketball) only lost to the two teams playing for the Championship tonight. Think on that coming from Indiana University.

Hook’em!!!

No inside information or anything but feels the longer this goes on the higher the likeliness of Knowels to OU.

Also plenty of rumors Day is trying to head to the NFL and sick of the Ohio State fan base and death threats

It would be dumb af as the defense is fine and last thing they should spend money on is a DC.  Unless it’s for defensive players.

So it’s probably happening.

If Knowles leaves a national champ in Columbus for a sinking ship in Norman, for a woman, he’d become the all time leader in the “undefeated” clubhouse.

Is that the story, Knowles is chasing tail to Norman?  Is this a stalking situation?  Is this a future domestic disturbance to embarrass the program situation?  I'm here for all of it, the messier the better!

offense is the problem so lets allow resources to a new defensive coordinator under a head coach who's specialty is defense and our defense wasn't all that bad in the first place...........makes sense like Oregon being above us in the final polls

The offensive coordinator has already been hired. There’s a vacancy, and I wouldn’t mind trying to fill it with Knowles. That said, I’m leaning toward an internal promotion with Venables calling the defense.

Sorry to tell you but this isn’t happening. Knowles is on the way. We are so fucking back it’s unbelievable.

Saw on a OSU board this his fiancé lives in OKC and doesn’t want to move. Is there some set number above $1 mil a year in salary where mangled ass suture face becomes attractive?

She lives in Weatherford. She use to live in Piedmont where her boys went to school. The youngest son is a great basketball player. He has a couple D2 offers so far. I’ve know them for a while and are all great people, including the ex-husband.

She looks exactly like what an old coach would be with.

I would pick a school whose head coach isn't getting fired next year.

Sterlin Gilbert didn't get that memo.
