His son, who managed him for 40 years, did a great job of keeping him relevant as he moved into old age. He was the music industry’s version of Betty White.

I just read this.  He seemed like a wonderful man and I loved his records.  Rest In Peace Anthony Dominick Benedetto. Thank you for the wonderful music.

CSB:  My GF is divorced (as am I).  Her ex is Danny Bennett's first cousin (his mother's side).  Tony Bennett was at her wedding.   She hasn't seen Tony in forever, but still exchanges christmas cards with Danny.

I've never met him.

She texted Danny this morning, but hasn't heard back as of yet.  I'm sure he's busy.

She says Tony was a cool customer, and a major pothead.

A place I worked at near Central Park had a breakfast menu item named after him because it was his favorite thing to eat when he would come in years ago. I heard some very nice stories about him. He was as talented a singer as his generation produced and he was a kind soul. Rest in peace Mr. Bennett.

My wife’s grandad somehow knew him and her grandma still has an original painting he did for him. He was a jazz drummer in 1950s NYC so maybe that’s when he knew him. Already told my wife she’s stealing it when grandma kicks it.

RIP. One of the true greats of all time.

Been reading some obits and tributes this morning.  Seems he was the exception to 'only the good die young.'  I had no idea he was a serious painter by the way.  What an impressive life he seemed to live.  RIP.
