I'm not very savvy when it comes to internet/technology stuff, but over the past several weeks we've had several long time periods of our modem not working/interent going out.  It tries to start back up and keeps repeating.  It eventually comes on, sometimes 4-5 hours later.  Is my modem going out?  Do I need a new one?  My neighbors who have the same provider aren't having this problem, so it's obviously something on my end.  Just not sure if I need a new modem or have a tech come out and look at the lines or whatever.  Thanks for any info.

I’d have them come check the lines/signal that’s making it to your house before I replaced the modem.

You need a new house. Next it will be the dishwasher, then heater, then lights. What will be next? Can you afford that risk?

You can probably self-diagnose if you know how to log into your modem.  If there's quite a bit of static noise (google is your friend), then you may need to call a technician out.  If there's not, it's probably the modem and you can replace it yourself.

Well, we are currently remodeling our kitchen and doing an add on.  Got a new dishwasher and new lights in the kitchen, so I've about got your list covered.
