We HAVE to put age limits in government.  Between him and Feinstein, this is god damn ridiculous.

Seriously drop them off 10 blocks from home. If they make it back alive, with no assistance then they can return to office.

And if they don't...

At least Feinstein doesn't talk in public anymore and isn't her chamber's party leader. Time to put ol Mitch down.

Yep, the female aide tries to play it off as if ol' Mitch is just a little hard of hearing and can't hear the questions. It's not that his brain is totally short circuiting and he's unable to process where the fuck he's at let alone answer a basic question, no it's the responsibility of the audience to speak louder so Mitch can hear them.

This is going to end in a spectacular shitshow if they keep running him out in front of mics and cameras.  He's going to end up pissing himself while licking a mic because he thinks it's an ice cream cone.

The follow up question in a loud voice so everyone can hear it should have been:

"Senator, when asked about running in 2026 you froze up and looked like you didn't know where you were. This is the second time in as many months that this has happened. Why haven't you resigned already?

Followed by:

Will you submit to a public cognitive test?"

Jesus christ, these geriatric fossils in politics need to get shoved out the back. That goes for Mitch, Feinstein, Biden, Trump, Bernie.... all of them need to get the fuck out.

But we don't need term or age limits.

That's the kind of shit you'd expect Biden to be doing, the way they talk. But he doesn't. At all.

Wonder how long they'll continue to gaslight everyone about whatever is wrong with him. Also, he looks 10 years older than he did in the last one.

come on now. you should know gatekeeping is one the of the last, actual "both sides" issues left. that generation was raised on dying at your job. you work until you croak. unfortunately I think we have to wait this one out. the incoming generations won't want to carry the same torch, at least that's my prediction

gaslighting IS their platform, so likely as long as they are still a thing

Thats at least 2 so far that have been caught on camera...how many more till the Turtle Man finally admits theres an issue and he probably needs to retire...

Really need to get these old fucks out of office...

Kentucky gets interesting if Mitch leaves and loses the incumbent advantage.  The KY governor is a Democrat.  If GOP puts up a MAGA-ite which is possible, that's a senate seat available (although not until 2026 elections).  Looks like party appoints replacement, so not sure what he is hanging on for.  He isn't making it 3 1/2 more years.

How about the Dems offer up a 1-for-1 trade — Feinstein for Moscow Mitch? We get ours to step aside, you get yours to do the same. Deal?

Weird that we have them, just as age minimums instead of age limits.

I'm an actual human being who feels empathy for other humans, so my natural reaction is to feel bad for the guy.  But then I remember all of the evil he's done to this country and all I can think is "fuck him."

i think it's about time to unplug him, take him apart, and put him back in the box.

It’s time to talk about how politicians over time become addicted to power and prestige and what can be done to save them and us from themselves. Diane Feinstein, and Mitch McConnell should be nowhere near the Senate. The retirement age should be whatever Dick Durban is.

This should be our guiding principle.  We have minimum age limits for obvious reasons.  We should have maximum age limits for the same obvious reasons.  I would suggest the rule is you can't start a new term in office once you are >80% of the US life expectancy with a recalibration of that figure on the decade when the census is done.  You want to hold on to power longer chuckles....figure out how to make the country a better place where people can live longer.

It's very weird. I feel like CEOs retire and it's the most similar position I can think of. I guess the board has the power to push them out?

I just think if I reached a certain age, I'd want to be sitting out my days on the porch with a glass of tea instead of having to give talks at a podium.

They aren't normal people though.  That's why they won't retire.

Do you trust that those fucksticks would follow thru and actually pull Mitch?  I don't

Whether Mitch or Feinstein, imo, this shit reflects less poorly on them as individuals than it does their staff, family, or whatever social support network they are surrounded by. These are old increasingly obviously impaired individuals. The people that enable their ongoing and very public humiliation deserve scorn.

That’s certainly the case with Feinstein. However, Mitch is as big of a son-of-a-bitch as anybody he’s got working for him.

You're the kind of guy that goes to the tug joint and asks for the mamasan instead of Cici.

Was hoping the guy that walks up to him at the end of the video was going to hit him with one of these and they'd drag him away.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) called Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) “not fit for office” after he appeared to freeze up at a podium Wednesday for the second time in recent weeks while taking questions from reporters.

“Severe aging health issues and/or mental health incompetence in our nation’s leaders MUST be addressed,” Greene wrote on Wednesday on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. She attached a clip from the incident earlier in the day.

“Biden, McConnell, Feinstein, and Fetterman are examples of people who are not fit for office and it’s time to be serious about it,” Greene continued, comparing McConnell’s freeze-up to what she suggested were health-related conditions affecting President Biden, along with Democratic Sens. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) and John Fetterman (Pa.).

Lawmakers have expressed similar health concerns about Feinstein’s mental capabilities, with a small number in her party even calling on her to resign. Fetterman checked himself into a hospital for several weeks to get treatment for clinical depression. He also survived a stroke during his campaign.

Biden is the oldest president in history to be elected to the White House and has acknowledged in interviews that questions about his age are “totally legitimate” but said he’s fully capable of running for reelection. According to the White House, his doctor has given him a clean bill of health.

In a subsequent post, Greene raised the possibility of invoking the 25th Amendment, which addresses succession and disability as it applies to the president.

“These politician’s staff and family members should be ashamed of themselves by enabling and allowing their loved ones to remain in office all to hold power. We are talking about our country’s national security and it’s all at stake! 25th amendment and other measures need to be on the table,” she wrote.

Greene’s comments echo some arguments expressed by members of both parties, who have raised concerns about an aging Senate, both in terms of mental acuity and in terms of reflecting the demographics of their constituents. The median age in the U.S. Senate is 65.3 years, according to Pew Research Center.

Well, if it happens next year, you can't appoint anyone during an election year.  That's the rule, right Mitch?  Mitch?  Did you hear the question?

So MTG used this as an excuse to bash some democrats who are clearly sharper than she is (minus Feinstein).
