This was one of my favorite episodes, but not sure what ever happened to the guy playing Clint Eastwood. Negged for not recognizing Laura Ingraham in that pic.

July 2Jul 2 Going way back, these guys are always gold. If you see their name in the cast, you know it's going to be watchable. Frank McHugh Alan Hale Walter Brennan

July 3Jul 3 Here's how Brittanica starts their Bio on Pesci: Joe Pesci (born February 9, 1943, Newark, New Jersey, U.S.) is an American character actor who is equally adept at comic roles and at playing menacing characters.

Love dem movies, just vaudeville with a little extra mustard! Well portrayed in satire on SNL by Phil Hartman yelling at Jon Lovitz (or was it vice versa?) to tell him what the word was on the street, y’know, the scoop, the skinny, the dish!

The word “swell” was a big word back in those days.

July 3Jul 3 In my mind, character actor in this thread should mean an actor that maybe 25% of the population could put a name with a face. Pesci, Seymour Hoffman, Duvall etc are fantastic actors that play a myriad of roles, but have become recognizable stars. Been some really great ones named here. I have a couple (and hopefully a few people will not recognize the name but will the face or the other way): Mark Strong, Ben Mendelsohn, Luiz Guzman, Scott Glen Interestingly, very few women come to mind. Not sure why that is?
July 3Jul 3 Can't believe I haven't participated in this. Since it was bumped, just gonna vomit some greats that come to mind: "Arguably too famous to be on the list because they're so good" tier: Steve Buscemi John Turturro John C. Reilly Frances McDormand Don Cheadle "Not the GOATS but still legends" tier: M. Emmett Walsh Joseph Cotton Bruce Campbell Jackie Earle Haley Jon Polito Luis Guzman Ving Rhames Nicky Katt Joe Pantoliano Edward James Olmos Chris McDonald "Even I had to google them to remember their names and/or spell check" tier: Rick Ducommon Brent Briscoe Favorite Newcomer Award: Paul Walter Hauser Edited July 3Jul 3 by CurlyDumps

Not exactly chopped liver, huh? Fargo / Ghost World / Con Air / just scratch the surface. I was thinking the same and so worth highlighting your comment. I'd also add Linda Hunt to the list.

August 3Aug 3 May not be the best, but thread title says favorite... Check out Taskmaster on YouTube. It’s a British game show that he loves and basically forced his way on to. He shows up and attempts to burn the entire island to the ground.

Rumor floating around when I was a kid was he was the 2nd most decorated Vet in WW2. While he was a decorated Vet, he was far from 2nd most decorated.
August 6Aug 6 @CurlyDumps mentioned this one, but Paul Walter Hauser needs some mentions. He is in the new Naked Gun and he was great in his role. The scene with him fighting the kids was, well, perfect for that movie.
August 23Aug 23 Hmm. I will submit Agent 13 as my favorite character gag of that era. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/david-ketchum-dead-get-smart-agent-13-1236351427/
