Coopers BBQ for a late lunch, including a Big Chop, which you only eat half of, and toss the other half into your cooler.  Flyfish the Llano all day, till it gets too dark to fish.  Eat the second half of your leftover Coopers Big Chop with your hand, cold, in the truck as you drive back under the stars.  Fuck yeah.

That nails this thread perfectly. (except for cilantro garnish - that might be the only cilantro garnish in the entire thread)

Al would disagree about the cilantro.

Worked at the ranch today with Dad, he turned 87 last Sunday and was mad at me because I would not let him run the chainsaw. Since we went into town early today for some fencing we didn’t feel like driving back for dinner tonight.

The setting: an old hay barn that has served as our camp barn on the place for 30 years of duck and squirrel hunts, spring and winter break family campouts and many weekends of scout camping. The barn over looks a cove that used to be a native pecan orchard before the lake flooded.

The meal: grilled jalapeño sausage on flour tortillas with processed cheese and a splash of Stubbs. Sides were HEB frito scoops and bean dip. The tableware was paper towels on top of newspaper and the table an upside down cattle feed syrup bucket.

Magnificent

That’s beautiful man. I’m jealous on levels you’ll never understand.

Worked all weekend, no time to devote any prep or cooking for the game. And we weren’t going to a party or anything. So...super bowl eats, in four parts.

Leftover cold pizza:

It was 2-1 cheesesteaks at Delaware today. The boy wanted one, so he picked an extra up for his old man.

And then the one thing I actually bought earlier this week...canned Rico’s cheese, to make ballpark-quality nachos.

You need to neg-rep your pizza shop because they left the jalapenos off of your pizza.

This post hit me a bit.  My dad passed away about five years ago after a long battle with cancer and related illnesses robbed him of his final decade.  The first picture you posted...man, that is the rare photograph that perfectly captures its intended scene and in so doing conjures up emotions within the viewer.  The second... @Brisketexan nailed it.  Any words I might add would fail to add anything of significance. What I wouldn't give for a weekend such as the one you brilliantly captured in two pictures.

T'was ordered for a group working at the office all day on Saturday.  Had to be friendly toppings for a broad group.  The classic pepperoni-sausage-mushroom combo fit the bill.

Reason 206,975,934 relates to people who stop their grocery cart in the middle of the aisle instead of pulling off to the side, I presume?

just enough mayo

Some breakfast tacos I made this morning. Refried beans, eggs, bacon, and cheese.

I’m pretty much all about cold leftover anything, but steak doesn’t work for me. The melted fat is the best part. I like to slice a cold steak up thin and fry it up in a pan.

That would have worked too but would have required much more energy than I was willing to expend at the time. My only regret is that the onion I thought we had was nowhere to be found

Those tacos are my exact breakfast nearly every morning. Same plate too.

We should hang out /no homo

Cooked another plate of catfish last night in the air fryer. Might have left it in a minute or two too long, but it still slammed and went hard.18884069199b95e956260eb2862e98e9.jpg

I’m wanting to try an awesome blossom (or bloomin onion if that’s your lingo) in the air fryer.
