Dart Bowl Texas toast frowns on your shenanigans.

I don’t doubt it; I’ve just never been there. I plan to make it there next time I’m in Austin though. I’ll get the enchiladas.

Were the tortillas made from roses, bluebonnets or some other kind of flower?

as someone who never enjoyed bowling I’ve never made it over to dart bowl.  I do like enchiladas though.  have heard things over the years I would just like some clarification: are they excellent bowling alley enchiladas or are they excellent enchiladas?  answer from your heart please.

On a good day they’re really good enchiladas. I’ve had a couple less than great experiences over the years but they’re never bad.

Excellent enchiladas.

They’re genuinely fantastic enchiladas. For serious. Like, we’ve gone there just for dinner. Several times.

Sprouts and asparagus? I bet that was a stank piss that could give a Grand Canyon trail donkey a run for his money.

To be fair, Dart Bowl's toast is otherworldly. It's probably the only place I would choose toast over tortillas.

Is that 7 pork rinds and some trail mix? Are you going on a hike and on a diet?

Edit: after more thought, clearly you’re doing keto. Ok cool. Lose that weight amigo! But this is not the thread for people who are counting carbs.

Futureman is correct. I just happen to like pork rhinds and mixed nuts with ice cold beer.

Sausages and onions. The onions we're cooked in beer salt and pepper before going into the skillet d1276a1829a5828897d37ef9e21b6bcc.jpg

Bonus points for using the plastic spatula. Obviously this is you and not your wife cooking.

HAHAH - yes. And that pan is off limits anyway. I found it a thrift store a couple of years ago for  $1.95 and it is by far my favorite. I like it more than the $100 one I got as a wedding present.

Oustanding! Although I would have tossed in some bell and banana peppers.

My wife hates bell peppers, but man I wish I thought about the banana peppers. I'm pretty sure I have a jar in the fridge too

I've heard they put ketchup on tamales in South Texas.

My BIL used to do this when he first started dating my sister. After my sister relentlessly made fun of him, he has stopped.

One thing the Guidos get right is sausage and peppers.

If she hates bell, get some other fresh sweet peppers to fry up. Flavor is your friend. Hell, even canned green chiles would suffice.

i fucking despise bell peppers and i was very pleased when the BA test kitchen crew almost universally panned green bells.

#3890

Used to hate them myself but have come around a bit on them, wife loves putting them in her meatloaf so I've learned to tolerate them more.

Except for the defense of them as part of the cajun trinity, which is a sacred and valid defense.  And for that matter, sauteed with onions and italian sausage, yeah, the guidos nailed that.

Replaced the bell pepper once with a poblano for gumbo. It did not suck.

Sloppy Joe on hot dog bun. Grilled onions. Shredded cheese. Japs (no offense to the Orientals). Completely fell apart on the first bite. Scarfed the rest of the mess down in the second.

Let us not forget about the beer brat. Simmered in onion and green pepper.

I have seriously been thinking about doing that this Thursday night for several days now. I don't have a grill at home, so I'm thinking boil them in the onion/beer mix then searing in cast iron before topping with said onions?

I wouldn't really boil but simmer.  Cast iron would work fine, all you need is a little color on the brats.
