Soon you will be up to bigger than bun.

Speaking from recent experience, a johnsonville brat will fit in a hinged regular bun, with a full or near so Chicago treatment.

The Kid: Hey Daddy. They’re having chicken fried steak sammich tomorrow, so you don’t have to pack my lunch.

Me: Got it.

Me today: Damn, a CFS sammich sure would be nice….

And where did you procure said sandwich?

I would have been fine with you just posting a picture of a Dude.

Cafeteria at work; they serve ‘em up daily. Angioplasty on the side, literally (the cath lab is directly one floor down).

Had a couple of leftover boneless chicken thighs I stuffed with Hatch green chilis. Had a couple of pieces of garlic bread from another night. Put those together with several different cheeses and you get a chicken melt. Quite tasty.

Small-town high school football. The junior class is offering pulled pork sandwiches and hot dogs at the concession stand.
Would Steel Shank offer the kids a couple extra bucks to top a hot dog with pulled pork?
Probably so.

Wtf kinda second rate concession stand doesn’t also have Rico’s cheese to pour over that bad boy?

Actually they have them in Oklahoma. You want to know why so much of the country is fucked up? Complete ignorance and lack of availability of Chick o stick. Or even their peanut butter bars which I believe to be the finest confectionery available on the planet.

I, for one, salute the entire line of Atkinson's confectionaries.

No, the Homemade Vanilla - I actually don't usually eat it, I buy it for my dogs and give them each a scoop at night for dessert.  But drunken times call for desperate measures (and I do alternate between the two, this week the dice just came up "homemade"...).

It will probably be my greatest contribution to this thread, and I plan on having it for supper again tonight.  I'll have to find something to replace the Doritos though, that was the bottom of the bag.

Ok, I lied.  The bottom of the bag got dumped straight into my mouth.  But that was almost the bottom of the bag.

Braunschweiger slams and goes hard. Doritos bring the crunch it lacks. Gordon Ramsey should be so talented.

This particular Braunschweiger comes from the locker we have all our personal use hogs processed at.  It's firmer than most, having a consistency a little more on the spectrum of a sausage vs a pate, which makes it really well suited for sandwich construction, IMO.

If for some reason anyone here is within an hour of Elma, Iowa, it's absolutely worth the side bar to load up on meat.  All of their products are as good as pork processing gets, IMO.

You almost went too far for this thread, but then you added the Doritos and brought this right back to Shank town. Well done.

I have no idea if the locker ships or not, but I don't know what freezing their braunschweiger for shipping would do to the meat, or how one would ship it in a refrigerated fashion.

Sometimes the entries to this thread, while objectively delicious, run a little too hard into boujie territory.  You have to reel in some kind of trash aspect, or at least something that seemingly makes 0 sense to the unlearned palate.

Or add a cheese hinge.

I'm going to be in your neighborhood at the end of the month. Do they have braunschweiger at all times or is it special order?

Or I could follow the link you so graciously provided.

I actually didn't see any acknowledgment of it on their website, but it's always been in stock when I've visited the store personally.

We don't have the hogs we take home and throw into my deep freeze turned into braunschweiger, because my wife hates it.  I just buy a roll when I swing through.
