Other side note, quarantine boredom led me to try sanding the 10" to try and get the smooth surface you get on the nicer ones like De Buyers. Spent about and hour and like $15 on sand paper. End result actually was very very nice and I'm very happy with it. Very non stick and got there quickly.

Hackberry LA. Got some marsh down there. I spent the better part of two hours playing crab lacrosse with a dip net between two kids, 3 nets and 4 or 5 strings.

Jealous.  Of both the tasty crabs and getting to slog around in the marsh with the kiddos.

I feel like chili cheese dogs are the spirit food of this thread. If not specifically, then perhaps more generally “encased meats wrapped in a bread product slathered in something, preferably including jalapeños.”

Step one: buy a can of chili and make sure it’s made with real beef and does not include beans.

Step two. Heat chili and dogs and assemble chili cheese dogs. Don’t skimp on the pickled japs! Be sure to pick the ugliest plate your wife won’t let you throw away for whatever reason.

Step three. Wear your best hot dog shirt while consuming.

Step four. Use a hefty kettle-cooked potato chip to scoop up everything that falls out.

Step five. Bask in victory.

Feels like you’re trying too hard.

Sure would have been nice to have had a nice cold domestic lager or tree to wash those dogs down with but I'm not seeing it.

The snack of the Beach Cliff fish steaks with louisiana hot sauce is always solid.  And yes, I added more Crystal to the can after this photo:

When I was in Stockholm I had some pickled fish five ways appetizer. It ranged from tolerable to great. I greatly preferred the venison steak entree.

Nice. I’ve been to malmo. Can’t remember what we ate but I certainly remember jumping into the Nowth sea in the winter. I know, csb.

What restaurant? Our herring was served 4 or 5 different ways. I loved them all. We ate at Pelikan, which is one of the places Bourdain ate when he was there. Great meal.

I’d have to go forensic some trip photos. But the only particularly memorable meal I recall was restaurant prinsen. Some duck with Parmesan croquettes.

I looked but don't have pics of the food. Love Stockholm, though. I need to get back there soon.

I drank all my Bud Light so I'm having some wine.

No need to apologize for wine. Wine is bad ass. So is whiskey. So is vodka, and rum, and gin, and tequila. Gotta change it up every so often.

Did it come from a box? Because that seems appropriate for this thread.

She that one dancer down at The Landing Strip?

Had left over Lupe Tortilla's beef fajitas so it converted into this.  Did not suck.  Beans, queso, fajita steak, shredded cheese, salsa and sour cream.  I was out of japs.

On of the subtexts of this thread is the ability to adapt and overcome and to turn the hand you are dealt into a winner.

As I scrolled through the thread this morning, I came across a glorious plate of nachos, which as will do, made me want nachos.

Everyone knows that the first ingredient needed for nachos is chips. Well, I was dealt a shitty hand in that I didn't have any chips, and my laziness to go to the store was winning over my desire for nachos. Then, as I opened the fridge to look for another lunch option, the sight of a roll of venison sausage struck me like lightning. Why not use summer sausage as a replacement for the chips?

So what we have here is your basic summer sausage, jack cheese, horseradish, bbq sauce, dijon mustard nachos topped with pickled japs.

Those two pushed to the side of the plate had pickled, candied japs, so they were for dessert.

Beans sure are good.

@Orange&White - strong and aggressive yet executed with finesse. Like when James Brown does his moves on stage.

Was feeling snacky this morning and spied some leftover curly fries. Smothered with melty pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, and hot sauce (in this case, Sriracha).

Or when he throws a pass from his own end zone into triple coverage where only Pat Fitzgerald can catch with one hand.

A whiskey bottle, a tube of crackers, and a can of EZ cheese is our usual mise en place, so Zepol's is just fancier.
