As he was scrambling he missed a wide open receiver, I cannot remember who it was, under the field goal. Other than that I'm happy as shit with his performance. On TV they showed on our first offensive play when Arch’s arm got hit and ball went straight up in the air they showed Livingstone WIDE open streaking over the middle- looked like Arch looked at him but couldn’t I’ll the trigger. I was thinking oh boy, here we go again. Didn’t miss many open receivers the rest of the game.

September 21Sep 21 One thing that bothered me was a play (and I'm pretty sure there were several others) where we ran an empty backfield. Everyone probably remembers it because Arch got blasted, although he got rid of the ball. Whan Sam Houston saw the empty backfield, they sent everyone they could. A hard shot from bigger, better opponent could put Arch out for the season. I have never liked going empty backfield. I think teams are much less likely to blitz when they know the QB has help. A running back that stays in to block can buy any QB extra time to make the big play, or he can become a weapon if the QB needs to get rid of the ball in a hurry. He's also a threat to run the ball outside when the LBs blitz inside. And it isn't just concussions and broken legs that you have to worry about. A QB can fuck up a hand trying to throw it hard with a defender in his face.

September 21Sep 21 Not sure what happened, he started out throwing low to receivers again and then got it put together and played really well. People who use “cringe” a lack “aura”
September 21Sep 21 Quote This NCAA single-game record for passer rating (also known as passing efficiency) is held by Cincinnati quarterback Gunner Kiel, who achieved it on October 23, 2015, against UCF. He completed 15 of 15 passes for 319 yards and 5 touchdowns, with no interceptions. The NCAA does not maintain an official single-game leaderboard due to incomplete historical box scores, but this performance is widely recognized as the record based on available data. From AI, somebody else can verify if they want.

Yesterday, Indiana's Mendoza was 21-23, 267, 5 TD against Illinois. According to the calculator, that's good for a score of 260.6. ESPN's QBR had Manning at 81.6 and Mendoza at 93.6. Fwiw, Kyler Murray against Baylor in 2018: 17-21, 432yds, 6TD, 0 INT -> 348.04 passer rating.

That Illinois had no business being in the top 25, much less top 10. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Their rank has been needling me as the only reason they were there was their win over a very horrible UNC.

September 21Sep 21 Popular Post I implore people not to take the bait with Arch stuff on social media. Everyone is an engagement whore so he is an easy target. Was it a little much talking shit to the SHSU player? Sure. But he did this all the time last year. He mean mugged after the A&M run, showed a lot of emotion on TDs vs. Colorado State and UTSA as well. He almost looked depressed running in for a score last week vs. UTEP. Maybe a bit of an overcorrection, but the reality is he's an emotional guy and the players and coaches want this version of him.

Sadly, rage baiting in the standard in all social media and while this falls more into the argument baiting, its still the same sphere. For my end, if a player, not just Arch isnt consistently over the top and not getting flagged I'm just fine with it. Particularly so in college football/sports. These are 18-22 year old young men. Raise your hand if you never talked any crap at heated moments at that age.
