This.   I think we all said he needed to get better or else.  We just thought some patience is warranted and the guy is still getting criticized after throwing for 700 yards and 7 tds the last two games.

Who is criticizing his play the last two games?

A special fuck you to the bitch ass pussies that have infected this thread for the last week. Maybe the most pathetic display from Texas fans regarding one of our players that I've ever seen.  Ar

Nobody. There some of us who were still seeing the same arch in the first half against Miss St, and were saying he needed to sit(and I don't' think it was impatient to say that 6 games in), but I believe everyone, even the real Arch haters, all have said he's been great since the 2nd half of Miss St.

Anyone who thought that Arch needed to be benched after watching the first half against Miss St when he was our entire offense while getting planted in the turf constantly by free rushers coming through the A & B gaps is a football moron.

... we all agree that Manning looks good and we're happy with his level of play? And we're done litigating who said what about benching Manning because that shit is all in the past? With the obvious caveat that if he reverts we can all lose our minds again. Or do we need to keep yelling at each other?

Georgia is going to blitz like crazy against us. We’ll see how manning handles the next away game.

Bigger issue will be how the line handles it. If we pick up blitzes at least well enough to prevent immediate pressure, I'm comfortable that Arch can handle it (unless bad Arch returns). The coordination at the line was so much better against Vanderbilt than anything we've seen all season.

Yes. They. Are.

We will never stop litigating.  Ever.

I would expect Georgia to also play aggressively on anything short and force us to make plays down the field.

So what happened between the first three quarters and the 4th quarter where we magically got better? There were no personnel changes.

I expect the Georgia DBs to hold on every play.

Lot more 11 personnel and I think MSU DL got a bit tired. Did you not do like a 10 clips of this?

They utilize the Duke basketball philosophy of defense. Play as aggressive as you can and force them to let some of it go=win.

Do you have a point?

I pointed out all these same things in my film thread but since some of you have a hard time believing another poster here is a former NFL QB, a QB who used to play for Sark, and some other dude,  breaking down the same things. Fast forward to the 4:30 mark in the second video where he talks about 11 personnel. Mind you, all these videos were posted a day after my thread.

You guys are saying that the reason we were successful against Vandy is because we made changed to the O-line. Well there were no changes to the O-line in the MsSt game so why did Arch all the sudden have time to throw and the offense explode?

You are going full Ian Boyd. The move to more 11 personnel helped out the offense (been talked about since probably week 1 by many). The change on the OL helped in the Vandy game. Its not an either/or situation

the line did get better with Hutson at LG.  I'm not sure the pockets were a ton better because we got the ball out way quicker and spread out so that they didn't have ability to blitz and stunt with as many guys in the box BUT we didn't have many busted assignments or flat out whiffs that were going on with Robertson/Stroh/Brooks combo.  Maybe Hutson at guard helped Robertson too.  Stroh is a senior right?  It is just amazing how bad he was.  he was the double whammy of awful technique and busting assigments.

No, I believe Stroh is a RS-SO.

Stroh needs to improve his footwork significantly and stop lunging so much. I don't want to give up on the big galoot, but he's been a liability. We've got our best 5 OL in now, thank God. Finally

It's just not gonna happen for him. It's just not. He was a horrible recruiting miss for Flood. We were all enamored with the "big human" bullshit, but if you go back and watch him, he literally should have been a 2* playing G5 or FCS. He's like bad, bad. There is no ceiling for him, just floor. Nothing against the kid personally, but he needs to be recruited over immediately and should probably transfer after next year when he gets his degree (I don't ever want a player to transfer from Texas without their degree). But yeah, don't expect any sort of miracle with Stroh.

I believe it was against Florida where I specifically watched him, and he was literally moving his feet like they teach you in junior high. It was weird as hell. It was like looking at someone who just learned the basics, and I was never a lineman. I don't know if you have ever watched him, but go back to that game and just watch his feet and moving. It looked like he was slowly doing an agility ladder drill, but in sow motion and in just one spot. He couldn't get his mam to move back and all you can see, and now will forever see after you witness it for yourself, the same thing. Think of the agility ladder drill, but in one spot and unable to move what can only be described in front of him as an immovable object, because he either lacks strength or he doesn't know where to properly push.

Yeah, I try to watch the OL closely when rewatching game film.

The other thing he does that drives me crazy is that he stops moving his feet at contact and belly-flops. Really bad technique. In hindsight, I'm surprised Flood ever played him.

21 personnel was almost worthless versus Miss St.  I think you're right that it was the right combination/recipe that finally got things going.  Arch's improvement in processing is the cherry on top.  Let's hope that Sark's ego sits on the bench for the rest of the season.

I fully expect to see 12 personnel vs Georgia, just to mess with everybody.

Lol, my insane brain caught a glimpse of Sark rolling out 12 personnel for the first possession. As they take the field, Sark finds a camera, stares right at it and gives Texas fans one of these:

I’m more worried about them manhandling our WRs while busting up our screens for negative yardage.

Like they did the previous 2 games with better blocking. Surely we’ve learned!

the calls to bench arch at any point this season were absolutely fucking stupid and anyone who ever suggested it should be embarrassed. benching arch would have started the collapse of this program, and signaled the beginning of the end for sark. it was an impossibly stupid take that an alarming number of people vociferously insisted was the right move. embarrassing.

Yes, that too. It's pretty unbelievable, even if we say Flood is a retread or whatever, you don't just see that and think 'yeah, if we're wanting to contend for anything, we should probably start the guy who doesn't understand the basics'.

Hopefully, and fingers crossed, we have found our starting five and they stay healthy. We can get into the recruiting, but that's just beating a dead sooner at this point. It's obvious we need a new OL coach, and we can't keep using the excuse every 3 years that we're young. With the portal, no team in the SEC/B1G should ever be "young", unless that's the QB. That and LB/S are the three you can't use that excuse on due to them being the heart of both offense and defense.

Well, at least this UGA defense sucks by comparison, too.

I just hope he doesn’t go super genius during the bye and revert from what he did in 4th quarter vs Florida, Oklahoma game, MSU game late, and now Vandy. That is straight up the offense he needs to run for the rest of the year. Deviating from that would be dumb

I think it all changed for Sark when I beat his ass in NCAA playing RPO to the sidelines and slant , play action to Endries and heavy Counter and Draws. Glad he could learn something...

Benching was never an option. Sarks first year with Quinn should have let everyone know. Let him work through the shit to get the experience we’ll need down the road. Fans are not as patient to the process as coaches that are not on the hot seat. Also we are assuming the backup is capable even tho fans don’t attend practice. What if bad to average arch is better than average to good Caldwell. Take the lumps till my ass is on the line.

Ian who?

I am worried about UGA, especially on the trenches. They dominated us on the lines when we were pretty good last year, even at home. I am scared to think what they will do our current OL and DBs. Hope I am wrong. Hope Archibald has a heisman worthy performance because that's probably what it will take to win in Athens.
