What happens when Flood decides to leave after this year?

Don’t think that will happen.

A special fuck you to the bitch ass pussies that have infected this thread for the last week. Maybe the most pathetic display from Texas fans regarding one of our players that I've ever seen.  Ar

I'm more worried about Choice leaving. I think Flood sticks around for a bit. But I don't know shit about it, just getting a feeling Choice is the next to take a step up (OC or HC at a smaller school).

Flood already got his HC shot and failed miserably.  I’m pretty sure he’ll be OC/OL at Texas indefinitely.

Choice, Banks, and Milwee are much more likely to leave or a HC (or OC in the case of Milwee) job.

It will be interesting what happens if Arch does start the next 2 games.

ULM and Miss State (gave up 30 and 41 in the last 2 weeks against unranked teams). Arch is probably going to put up video game numbers against both those teams if he starts.

Can you bench Arch if he's putting up video game numbers in 3 straight weeks?

Username checks out.

Right? I thought they said Arch hit 21, not 20.7

the drive to start the 4th with the off balance throw to wingo and the subsequent TD pass was pretty special.

the throw to Wingo especially, is one that gets picked a lot.  It was UTSA but still very nice to see the execution.

The one where he was in a dead sprint to his left and then dropped a dime on Wingo for a big gain? If that's the one you're talking, that was his most impressive throw of the night for me, that one or the laser on the slant to Golden were big boy NFL throws.

Sark got his HC shot at USC too before being fired.

It was fucking surreal seeing a manning slinging it at DKR like that. I remember being amazed watching Payton Manning at Texans games when I was in highschool.

How did we get so lucky?  Kid is the exact opposite of ego and entitlement.  In fact you could say that because he comes from a great background, he’s content to be patient, but that’s not how it usually works.  Then when he gets a chance to play, he exceeds the otherworldly expectations that has been heaped on him.  Crazy.

David Cutcliffe retired and the Manning family was in search of a new QB development guru.

Assuming they sit Ewers next week -- and they absolutely should, we don't need him getting injured against ULM -- do you think Archie, Peyton, and Eli will come to Austin for Arch's first start for #1 Texas?

You can probably also thank Colt McCoy for Arch Manning. Arch apparently became a Longhorn fan very early on, there are pics of him in elementary school wearing UT clothes and a video of him a kid with other football players being asked where they want to play college ball at, and he says he'll be the QB for the University of Texas. He would have apparently gotten this love for UT football at an early age by riding the last waves generated by Colt McCoy at Texas, Manning was born Colt's first year on campus.

tyreek never got up to full speed on his fastest run this year. he will easily eclipse 21 mph at some point in the near future.

Assuming he plays next week, I’d guess ulm will make him think fast by blitzing. He can obviously make throws and our wrs can get open.  So trying to disguise coverages and blitz to speed him up.

This is what UTSA and CSU tried. It hasn't worked at all which is why Arch is 14/18 with 6 touchdowns.

Blitzing like that can actually help a young/inexperienced QB because it speeds up the QB into quick decisions. I'm more interested to see what Arch does when teams sit in a base defense and force him to go through multiple reads.

Blitzing with our skill talent is a recipe for disaster. You might create some havoc in the backfield but you're also going to get burned with big plays. It's why when people say "Arch had some issues in the 2nd quarter last night" I just laugh. No, UTSA was bringing numbers to create pressure which worked a couple times but it's also why they were getting burned for huge plays all night.

Watching Arch look back at Denver Harris as he ran into the end zone was fantastic.

Arch finished as a .9995, not a 1.0000.

ESPN had him ranked as the #3 QB…

They ranked Malachi Nelson above him....ESPN is such dog shit.

I had no idea that's where Harris ended up. After all the handwringing over that recruitment, that's pretty great.

And as fantastic as that part was, the DE stumbling over himself when he realizes Arch kept the ball may have been even better. My man was on some serious roller skates.

I got a good laugh.

"He gotta come to black side."

Malachi Nelson, Dante Moore, and Jackson Arnold! That's a pretty spectacular fuckup. Given that Nico and Holstein were the next two QBs after Arch, it's incredible that they went with that trio in front of him.

Peter Woods (Clemson DT) was #4 and Arch was #5.

Episode 4 No GIF by Curb Your Enthusiasm

The other co-winner benefits from a sleeping giant program corched up by the Big Moosie, who also dominated a monster SECSECSEC opponent on the road. The ROAD!

So Arch should just consider himself lucky he's being recognized at all.

I read where Arch hit 20.7 mph on that run ....the guy writing the bit said many NFL wr's are not that fast...

Doesn't mean much, but nice to see....

I was watching the Seahawks game yesterday and they said that geno smith hit 20.7 on a td run in game 1.  Made me wonder about that metric, it’s usefulness and variability among top athletes.

Um, these are just jokes, sir, at aggy's expense.

But no, if you're really asking, I don't think he cares.

I have friends involved with how all of that stuff moves along and they were commenting at the time about the guys at ESPN, Mike Farrell and On3, all of whom they've worked with over the years. It was pretty hilarious then and it's absurd now.

"Farrell is desperate for any kind of click. He's never liked Texas and he knows that negative articles about Texas drive clicks. He probably really believes his own bullshit about Manning, too, because he's a clueless idiot. He's got nothing to lose, really. He's so disconnected with everything that this is kind of an obvious play."

"The ESPN guys have not scouted a single guy they're ranking in their top 300 in person. They're doing this to look smart and have told me that Manning is being heralded because of the name only." -- honestly, the ESPN guys were saying the same things to people that the texags posters were saying, almost down to every detail of the texags tropes about Manning.

"Power felt he had to do this. Don't bet against a Manning as the guy at QB in a class. He's mocked Texas' development and evaluation problems."

Whoops.

Can’t wait for the same shit when he’s a backup his rookie year.

His family knows what they’re doing. How many hotshot rookies flame out when thrown to the wolves? They want him to be prepared to make it to the league, and then be able to have a good career there.

Is this the part where we baselessly speculate that his uncles are running the show?

It’s a known quantity his family is guiding him.  Doesn’t appear to be in a meddling way.

Dari Nowkhah, a sooner and somehow also an SEC honk, was on Dusty and Danny this morning hammering the controversy angle. The others reacted against it, particularly because he was trying to align the situation with the ATM situation.

What’s funny is that this guy was one of the media people running with “ranking due to name only” as a thing prior to this season. Now he’s talking up the idea of Manning throwing for 8 more touchdowns before Ewers returns and needing to stay on as the starter. Assholes like Mike Farrell soon to follow suit, no doubt.

Prediction:

Once sark arch and Quinn navigate this stretch and Quinn is back and we beat ou and Georgia, these people will start criticizing arch for relinquishing the starting role this season and try to paint it as a sign of weakness.

Fucking instant gratification society these days. 🙄

That is some Sooner-level education there.  Weigman (225 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT) -> Reed is the same as Ewers (691 yards, 8 TD, 2 INT) -> Arch because.... both starting QBs got hurt?
