What does the QB room look like the next 2-3 years? What is the likelihood we get multiple years from him?

Most are saying he’s staying two years at least.  My best guess is Owens dips and Lacey takes over for Arch?  Or we get a transfer to give Lacey some time

but here is to wishful thinking that he is a slow learner and takes five years for a degree  lol

If he does, you may be entitled to compensation.

This is so true.

What if he isn’t even as good as we make him out to be? You know , live up to his hype

Then he'll be Ewers?

Sturm is an aggy troll. Plus, if we had lost to UTSA, UL Monroe, or Miss St it sure as shit would have been meaningful.

But we blew them out so it doesn't count.

It's up to Sark to give Arch the same level of defense and offense he gave Ewers. If he does that the offense will be higher scoring than this year. I mean the offense not getting above 20 pts in regulation in 5 of the final 7 games is just piss poor with the level of experience and talent available. And for many of those we had a lot of route winners that Ewers didn't throw or missed. Even that Georgia film guy noticed it on tape repeatedly and he doesn't have a dog in this fight.

Many of your are failing to realize our offense wasted a historically good defense. Best in the country level. When was the last time Texas had arguably the best defense in the country? Just look at the offensive output since Quinn came back for the OU game. Look at Bond pre OU and post OU. Go watch the film and look at all the route winners Wingo alone had his man cooked badly in the back half of the season and didn't get the ball.

Sometimes I wonder how you people can watch so much football yet not know what you're watching. I'm guessing it's because you let emotion get in the way and don't go back later and rewatch the tape to see what's actually going on.

I mean ... yeah some people are pretty over the top with this shit, but it's not like he's done nothing to warrant a massive amount of optimism. IMHO the 2 starts vs ULM and Miss St are meaningful, esp for his first and second starts ever. And for the season even in limited play, Arch has 9 pass TDs, 2 int, and 4 rush TDs.

While I generally hate the sequencing of next year's schedule, I think it sets up nicely for the first year under Arch.  I'd break the season up into 5 segments.

1. Opener vs. Ohio State - Obviously extremely tough game, both teams have to replace a ton of players. I like have the starting QB entering his 3rd year in the program. No matter what, we will learn A LOT from this game.

2. Cupcake month. Home vs. SJSU, UTEP, BYE WEEK, Sam Houston. Plenty of opportunities for playing time and figuring out our rotations on both sides of the ball.

3. AT Florida, OU in Dallas - Gators will be tough. OU the following week. Important middle stretch.

4. AT Kentucky, AT Miss St., home vs. Vandy, then 2nd BYE WEEK - All manageable and winnable games.

5. AT Georgia, home vs. Arky, home vs. A&M - Nut cutting time.

The 25 starts in college thing is real.  There's no way Arch leaves after one season.

Wingo will have a monster year next year. He struggled to catch wounded ducks from Ewers. How many touchdowns did Wingo have this season? How many of those were games in which Arch started?

targeting in its purest form

It doesn’t matter. It’s spearing.

I don't think there's a spearing penalty apart from targeting anymore.

I don’t care about best defense in the country , I want the best team , offense , defense and special teams. I hate football right now uggg

There isn’t. Spearing is rolled into the targeting rule. It is very clear, 100% targeting. It’s not even debatable. The player launched and used the crown of his helmet, and his forearm as a weapon.  It belongs on a video clip defining what targeting is

This man has very clear ball security issues.

This. Arch will be fun but I think he’s going to have a fairly sizeable drop off next year regarding ball control.

100%. Dropped his head, led with his crown, and had helmet-to-helmet contact.

And this is based on his 3 total turnovers this season?

I was thinking we’d probably see more turnovers next year, but how much worse could it actually be compared to this year?  Him throwing picks trying to push the ball 40 yards downfield won’t hurt as much as the backbreaking fumbles and LOS ints we had in our own side of the field this year.

He fumbled a few snaps iirc. And was a split second from fumbled last night.

I remember one fumbled snap that was on the center but there could have been others I forgot.

And a split second from a fumble is literally not a fumble.

I’m sure we will miss some things about Quinn but lack of turnovers shouldn’t be one of them.

Shots to the back of the head just behind the ear are responsible for wobbly knees in MMA fights.

The equilibrium goes splat.

Two of these things are not like the other...

Aggy in particular is going to get no lubed at DKR. And our crowd will actually be loud, without speakers and game noise even.

Hopefully he doesn’t get strip sacked against Georgia again agreed

Yeah, clearly Arky and A&M are nowhere near the level of UGA, but they are the two best homes games this year.

Hopefully your trollish spite posting goes away when Quinn declares for the draft.

This kid has "it". He is a gamer. A game changer. If you know football you can see it. If you dont know football, well, theres a lot of you here.

The team responds to him. They were fired up every time he went in during the season.

He has the dog in him. His mentality is authentic and he will be a Colt/Vince level playmaker.

In the limited number of snaps, when he has only had one job to run, it’s definitely a worry. If next year he’s only running on breakdowns or keeping the play alive it’ll be smart.

well it helps when 100,000 fans wake up and start cheering

If you think other team's fans hate us now just wait till a Manning is our starter.   It's going to be great.

Random question but how do QBs work on QB sneaks if they can't get touched in practice?

Tush push with Arch should be an absolute slam dunk in short yardage next year but QB sneaks are a skill that he probably needs to develop. The between the legs direct snap is a great counter to keep defenses honest too.

Also, agree with others that he seems to need some work on not fumbling.
