You lost the argument when Derka pos-repped you. You also can't lead someone upfield running a slant. Ball has to be thrown 5 yards in front of him to be on time where the number two safety prospect in the country only has to close the other 5 yards to be there and he is already moving. Good luck.

Says guy who's never watched football before. Apparently the QB just has to lead the WR straight into the DB,  cause some guy on the internet thinks that’s the only way slants are allowed to be thrown. 😂

A special fuck you to the bitch ass pussies that have infected this thread for the last week. Maybe the most pathetic display from Texas fans regarding one of our players that I've ever seen.  Ar

Idk why yall even bother arguing it. He hits Wingo in the fucking feet again.

It’s laughable you think it was going to hit his feet and not just hit the grass 5 yards away

The ball has to be thrown 5 yards in front of him for someone with a weak arm like Quinn

Hopefully there was plenty of film time to show arch how slow and fucked up he was.  Hopefully he’s a quick study.  Hopefully he saw the chances to win the game where there. Hopefully he saw what he needed to fix and we have 3 weeks and 3 cupcakes to fix it and all this will be for nothing.    Hopefully

The ball has to be thrown 5 yards in front of him for someone running like Wingo big dawg. Do the math. .5 seconds for the ball to get there to a player covering 40 yards under 4.4 who is already at speed.

I prefer to do the Alfredo.

Based on that the throw a few plays ago, it seems Arch may have an injured shoulder. He’s still throwing darts, but something’s up. That grimace was not normal.

We need a QB coach to come teach fundamentals. I always thought Ewers had horrible mechanics. Now I’m seeing it with Arch. Milwee may suck

I think he’ll continue to improve and ultimately be a good quarterback. But certainly clear as day why Sark stuck with Ewers despite his short comings.

I'm wondering the same thing about the wincing

Same. He’s hurt.

hes not throwing with ease.  we've seen him sling the ball last year.  its gotta be an undisclosed injury.

Arch looks better now than VY did two games into 2004.

Very much a work in progress, though.

We never saw enough of his full arsenal to know what we were getting. He still rips the ball long fairly well. He may just not have any finesse.

Arch’s mobility and pocket awareness gives him a huge advantage over Ewers.

Arch was one TD short of tying the all time single game record for a Texas QB...he's gonna be ok.

If we're talking about the same play, it looked like he got shit in his eyes to me. He closed them before releasing the ball.

Not elite, not incomplete, just meh so far....our O-line and running game is dog shit, which is the bigger issue thus far.

Nah, but he could be Sam Ehlinger 2.0
and thats fine, but we need an influx of talent at WR and reliable RBs

He has a good feel for the pocket.  He's not a Heisman candidate right off the bat.  It's not the end of the world.  He'll get there.

no, there were multiple throws where he winced after releasing the ball.

Yeah, he’s gonna be good. Looking forward to it slowing down for him so he can use his legs against quality defenses.

Over?  Oh no no no no.  This shit isn't OVER until he has completed his first NFL preseason and secured a 3rd string QB spot or washed out of the league and started running up huge Cheesecake Factory tabs Peyton has to cover for him.

watching arch stand tall in the pocket and go through his reads is downright refreshing. i’m so not used to seeing that from a Texas qb. a clean pocket was a nightmare for quinn ewers, because if his first read wasn’t wide open he’d turtle, start scrambling in the pocket (either forward or backwards), and just play with this sense of totally unnecessary urgency, a hallmark of his game after he got injured his first year here. the scrambling is incredible, but the way that Arch stands tall in the pocket and plays without fear is just so enjoyable to see after the last three seasons. colt was probably the last qb we had with this type of composure.

Maybe his face is hurt.

He needs a lot of work. He  has a ways to go. He can improve, and I believe he will, but right now he looks like a project.

Lots to learn.  Will make more mistakes.  Potential to be really good after a lot more starts is possible...

So just to put the icing on this cake. We're now 2 games into the RS Soph campaign for Arch. VY's 2nd RS Soph game was against big bad North Texas.

VY against UNT: 14/21 for 153 yards, 1 TD, plus 49 yards rushing on 8 attempts, 57.9 QBR.

Arch against SJSU: 19/30 for 295 yards, 4 TD, 1 INT, plus 23 yards rushing on 4 attempts and 1 TD, 74.2 QBR.

Arch needs to use his legs more and slide for a lotta easy 4-5 yard gains instead of looking 7-8 seconds for an open WR in a collapsing pocket

Against conference competition…absolutely.

Today…not so much.

There is no glory in getting hurt in trumped up practice.

If you're not doing it today, you aren't going to magically turn it on in conference.

Yea choosing to scramble and slide is a real hard skill if you can run, which Arch can

If you want to question whether Sark will allow it have at it, but it’s pretty clear he’s been told to limit running. Even on the TD run today you could see those “coach has told me to find a receiver and not run” wheels turning as he approached the LOS
