Arch to WR 😉

About the only hope I have left is that the last time we heard that from our fanbase was after this terrible effort from VY halfway through his time at Texas.

That was the one  home game I chose to fly in for that year, and I couldn't believe how bad VY/the team looked that week. 6 games later, we saw him fuckup michigan in the rose bowl. So uh.....do that Arch.

A special fuck you to the bitch ass pussies that have infected this thread for the last week. Maybe the most pathetic display from Texas fans regarding one of our players that I've ever seen.  Ar

Who should play? This isn’t like last year with someone presumably talented (and who played well when in) behind him.

I know for a fact Owens can hit a wide open WR. That alone is an improvement.

Anyone can’t be much worse where we have to literally run Qb run heavy because he cannot complete a basic pass

I mean they definitely can be worse. Again, your options are a small true freshman or a middling sun belt player. Arch has been terrible, you think Caldwell Is going to somehow save the day? lol.

OK...  Been drinking and thinking.

I watched a couple of Manning HS games. Most of his work was in the run game on those games. OK, cool. Hookem.

Arch is never going to be Peyton or Eli. Ever. Different physical and mental. No problem, just recognize. He's not a 3-5-7.

Right now, he has the yips - for real. Never been this inaccurate. It's mental. Something isnt right with Arch. He's swimming mentally. He's throwing balls at the feet of open receivers - regularly. That's a processing breakdown somewhere. He did not get here on his name and throwing the ball in the ground. Something is happening. People are open and he holds the ball until theyre covered or he's throwing at their feet.

Having said that, I'm calling for a "Let Arch be Arch" offense. He is not going to flip a switch and execute the Sark offense this season. He's not comfortable. Call more designed runs and run options...

If Sark makes one call to Mack and Greg (which I don't recommend) I hope the one thing they tell him is that he needs to maximize the QBs talents and do what he's comfortable doing vs forcing a system on him.

David Ash would have won a heisman on this team.

He didn’t look this bad last year.  Geezus.

Some saw the cracks in the foundation but there wasn’t this much pressure on him last year. He still didn’t perform very well in the pressure situations he was put in.

Vandy took a gamble on a QB from fricken New Mexico State and he’s competent.   Our break the glass option might be that bad if we had too

we don't need someone to save the day with our defense.  we need someone to hit open receivers five yards away and not turn the ball over

No he won’t. Caldwell was a middling sun belt player.

Okay and Arch is a wannabee Sunbelt backup. What's your point?

Probably all we can do at this point. I want to see the post game presser.

So Quinn Ewers?

Owens I guess. You know another QB sark can’t get ready

Is this a real post lol?

Too bad Quinn didn't stick around. This offense is hammered dog shit. An elite defense is going to be wasted on a limp dick offense with a 3rd year QB that can't make throws high school quarterbacks could make.

He’s Gilbert 2.0

or

Simms 2.0

Tale your pick.

The fact you think those are similar players means you should sit this out.

I'm not sure that Caldwell would be any better than Arch, but I am sure he wouldn't be any worse...

This version of Arch will lead us to a 6 win season, max. It’s terrible.

Lumping simms with Gilbert is fucking retarded and you should feel bad

I seem to remember Simms was being dogged just the same from some of his play….

The “next guy” isn’t on the roster currently.

Well, Dia Bell is already on serious injury #2, so it might not be him either.

Good point. What seemed to be the brightest spot of having Sark seems to have quickly become a nightmare

I pointed out last week how eerily similar Arch's second game as a RS So was, and VY's second game as a RS So.

Folks need to chill the fuck out. Our OL, WR corps, and QB are all basically new this year. They need game time snaps to figure things out.

There was this assumption that because he was a Manning, he'd sprout fully formed from Cooper's skull in full QB gear, ready to be the God of Football. That wasn't the case for any QB, Manning or otherwise. He still has to learn the game like everyone else does.

He might just suck, he might get better. I just know there’s not another option

I get not being able to read a defense or needing reps for the game to slow down, but his fundamentals are so fucking bad that even when he makes the right read he's not throwing catchable balls. Sarkisian basically had to stop calling passing plays in the 2H and just used him as a spread option QB in the run game.

there is a Grand Canyon sized chasm between God of Football and where he is now.  He is likely the worst starter on the roster right now.

Keep spamming the obvious. It makes you look really smart and cool. Not like an annoying dumb fuck.

That’s probably what we need to do from here on out.

Did you actually watch him throw the ball?  The way he was trying to throw the ball has nothing to do with the OL or WR it has to do with the way he throws.  You have to be blind to not see that

I agreed with many that we would learn nothing about this team during the three cup cake weeks. Boy was I wrong! That QB performance had to be the worse I have seen by a Texas QB since 1990 then again it may be recency bias. This staff has had three years to correct any inconsistencies Arch may have had and this is what we get. There is no fixing this because the folks responsible for this performance have all been here the whole time.

It’s time to let someone else get some reps. Arch is broke. It’s obvious. If this was Case McCoy or David Ash or Jerrod Heard or Richard Walton, the change would have been made.

Hahaha. Exactly. Missing open receivers is on no one other than the QB. Horrific game from Arch.

Looks like something is going on with his arm. I have seen a QB ruin his arm from  weightlifting, thinking that the added strength would help. Not always the case. Weightlifting can fuck up your agility. Gotta wonder... We've all heard of young pitchers who "threw their arm out" and ended their career.

Go lift some weights then try and play tennis or go bowling.

After that game I made a famous post on HF calling out the usual haters for their chicken little bulshit, telling them to get lost until the season was over, ended up winning 19 straight after that and scoring 50+ ppg the season later.

National media starting to notice he sucks ass.

Dam Wentzel put this out tonight:

“So far, we’re simply not getting the quarterback that was advertised by his name, his pedigree and Texas’ public confidence in his abilities. If that doesn’t happen for Manning — and soon — Texas is going to fall off the national radar as quickly as any preseason No. 1 in recent memory.”

Imagine going back a month and telling this board that you want Manning benched in mid Sept.?  Weird how things play out.

Hahaha, so many people here developed delusional expectations this offseason, than erupt in fury when reality takes place.

Go outside.

Build something.

Doink your wife.

There are much better things to be upset about.

Arch makes plenty of money to where he could hire his own personal trainer to help fix his issues.  If he's already doing that, he should demand a refund.  If he hasn't hired anyone, then he's a dumbass.

Edited by freyguy

So far, the dude just can’t play. I don’t think anyone I know expected that.

Here’s hoping that changes.

Edited by tbone_

Shoulder problems are notoriously hard to figure out even for medical folks.  Even if he doesn’t feel pain there can be something messed up.  I don’t think the yips explains it.  He doesn’t throw the ball with the same motion as last year.  A lot of his throws don’t have enough on them.  There’s definitely something going on.

Well, I would, but then the Vols had to choke away a victory.
