A special fuck you to the bitch ass pussies that have infected this thread for the last week. Maybe the most pathetic display from Texas fans regarding one of our players that I've ever seen.  Ar

He is already failing. This team is headed for an old fashioned Mack Brown style 65-13 beat down by OU in the RRS.

Not a chance. Our defense alone will hold Mateer and that offense to 10, all we need to do is the impossible and score 13.

What if OU defense scores 65 and our defense scores 13?

Somehow Mack is the only coach to pull off that humiliating feat multiple times. We can joke about it but it’s still just a Mack Brown special because he’s a giant pussy.

And yet Trey Owens has apparently reached the point where they don't trust him to be 2nd or maybe even 3rd string so they took an emergency QB from the portal. Good job Milwee

Trey Owens is transferring. That’s why Caldwell was brought in

Hopefully, Sark will have a very short leash on Arch for SHSU. If he sucks on the first 2 drives, it’s time to make a change. If you give this team average QB play, it’s a playoff team because the defense is that good.

I wouldn’t want to make that decision in the 2nd quarter in the Swamp.

Gundy got the axe?  Where you see that?

Oh no, but he is going to. No way he survives.

That seems to be what we are doing.

Correct, you don’t really ever see a coach talking to him on the sideline during games

Maybe Caldwell was brought in because Sark knew this was about to go down

Is it possible that practice and info is so tight lipped that what our 995ers were given was only optimism regardless of what actually happened at practice if they were told anything at all? CJ mentioning the team having a terrible week of practice mid game was very very odd considering we never once heard about it leading up to the game

And arch goes 3-1 as a starter,  Caldwell goes 12-0?

A smiley glad-hading pussy at that.

"Thank you for stretching out our anuses. It will make us a better team overall. See you at the golf course tomorrow, Bob."

I have never seen better deep throws in person than last year than when Arch was throwing. He also had swagger. Looked poised.

His deterioration can only be explained by quantum physics - time traveler Sam Beckett has leaped into his body. Or, being Space Jammed.

Was there for that one as well, last game before Nebraska tucked tail and ran into irrelevancy in the B1G.  Their supposedly friendly fans were all so bitter and yet smug, knowing we were crap going into that game and that they were FINALLY going to put it over on us on the way out the door.

Then we derped em.

Would Texas be better with Maalik Murphy at QB?   He's not tearing it up for the Beavers, but the supporting cast there is weak.

Shit, I saw he was playing with them. Wishing him well but he doesnt look like a starter.

There is no way that Arch looked bad enough in practice that Sark and the staff felt the need to get an emergency QB out of the portal and that shit didn’t make out to our pissant $9.95s who would have screamed it from the roof tops.

Caldwell threw 3 picks vs South Alabama. That’s the other option at quarterback

Joey Aguilar threw 4 against Louisiana last year.

nah, makes no sense now. Caldwell was only here for this fall anyway. He was brought it because arch is bad AND Owens is going to transfer

Idk based on what I’ve seen this season they didn’t know or weren’t saying shit regarding the state of the offense.

Who on the team can play the role of Crash Davis?

He quite literally could only make throws behind the line of scrimmage. That was the entire fucking problem. He was one of the most inaccurate passers ever to play here. He also had no ability to stretch the field at all.

May 21, 2010--Throwing the ball back to the pitching mound may be the simplest part of a catcher's job, but it's got former Texas Rangers catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia stumped. Physically, he can make the toss, but something in his psyche just won’t let him make the throw, says Dr. Michael Lardon, who is a psychological consultant for Major League Baseball.

"When you first start off playing a sport, it's physical -- but at the higher level it becomes disproportionally mental," he said. A mechanical glitch like this can become a persistent unconscious response.

In addition to working with sports psychologists, Saltalamacchia has changed his grip on the baseball and is using a tap-tap-throw rhythm for his tosses to the mound, tapping the ball twice against his glove before the throw, according to the Associated Press. So far, so good. The catcher made it through an entire game with only one inaccurate throw on Monday.

Tap, tap, Arch.

I've got it... Arch needs to have an Ayahuasca trip and purge his demons, become enlightened. I know some people in the area who could hook him up. We get this corrected before Florida maybe, for sure during the bye week in time for OU. 😉🤘🏾

Yall are insane. If sark saw this in practice, arch would not be starting. It’s mental for Arch. If he can turn it around, great, but he’s got two weeks. Then it’s time for Caldwell or someone else.

Sark sees Stroh in practice and he continues to start.

Did they stop looking after 20 years because I find hard to believe something like that happened in 2005.

Where’d he say this? Twitter?

We had Casey Thompson playing behind a bad OL with 4 fingers and Marcus Washington as his WR2 and we had a better offense than this.

There are JV QB’s at Austin Westlake who could make some of the throws Arch is missing. I don’t care how bad Caldwell was at Troy, you can’t convince me he couldn’t throw a 8 yard curl route to a receiver standing stil.

fuck, could sark be blind?!?  maybe that's the root cause of our issue

We literally saw the guy play well over 3 games last year, there’s no way he was playing like this in practice. This level of play is obviously mental, SJSU and UTEP aren’t any better than ULM or MSU.

It’s still one of the weirdest things that he was so great at QB in college and didn’t even get drafted and didn’t try to sign as a free agent.  Just went and had a long NBA career.

I loved watching FSU when he was playing.

Wasnt at the game. But think the boos were also. at the offense and playcall on 4th down.

So I was masochistically perusing social media to read people's reactions on Arch's abysmal performance and some Texas fans were swearing up and down Arch is an alcoholic.  They said he's at Fiji (I guess that's a frat?) every night getting plastered.  Surely that's just nonsense, right?

Are you sure they weren't saying he needs to be out partying more?

Manziel won a heisman being a drunk cokehead all season. Maybe getting lit more would get Arch to stop thinking and just fucking play

Whats so weird about that? Pro basketball players have safer, longer and more lucrative careers than pro football players:

Average Salary   NBA Approximately $11.9 million NFL Between $2.8 million and $3.2 million
