Texas Women’s Basketball 2023-2024: Handing out ass whoopins and lollipops, and we’re all out of lollipops

That line-up with Harmon, Booker, Jones, Gaston and Holle is sick. That group can get you to the last weekend.

The way Gaston is moving and playing I don't see how she wasn't good to go against UConn.

This is going to be a great year.

Jewell Spear should have come to Texas.

Such a dumb decision.

The only weakness this Texas team might have (key word might) is perimeter shooting.  A shooter like Spear with this roster would just be unfair. I think Texas is probably a top 5 team without her but damn what a bad decision.

Harper is some kind of portal witch or Tenn's NIL for WBB is crazy good.  It makes no sense - Harper is basically Karen Aston at this point.

#5/9 Texas (10-0, 0-0 Big 12) vs.  Arizona (7-2, 0-0 Pac-12)
Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 8:00 PM CT
McKale Center | Tucson, Ariz.

TELEVISION: The game will be televised nationally on the Pac-12 Network. Cindy Brunson (pxp) and Mary Murphy (analyst) will call the action.
This game is not on ESPN so you will need a provider that has the PAC-12 Network. You can sign up for a free one week trial of FUBO TV and get the game.
RADIO: All women's basketball games will air in Austin on 103.1 FM, along with the web streams on TexasSports.com and the Longhorn App. Roger Wallace will call the action.

The Texas Longhorns (10-0) will try to continue a 10-game winning streak when they visit the Arizona Wildcats (7-2) on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at McKale Center.
Jada Williams led Arizona to an 81-38 win over UCSD on Thursday, scoring 15 points in the game.
Taylor Jones' 21 points helped lead Texas to a 106-62 victory over Long Beach State in the team's last action on Wednesday.

Arizona Team Stats

Arizona has recorded 70.7 points per game this season while Texas allows 52.9 per contest.
This season, the Wildcats are shooting 44.2 percent from the field while limiting their opponents to a 38.2 percent clip.
The Longhorns score 92 points per game, more than the 58.4 Arizona allows.

Arizona Players to Watch

Kailyn Gilbert leads Arizona in scoring and averages 13 points and 1.6 steals per game. Esmery Martinez leads the Wildcats with 6.0 rebounds per game and adds 11.0 points, while Helena Pueyo paces the squad with 3.4 assists and averages 4.2 points.
When it comes to shooting the basketball, Gilbert is the best bet for Arizona. She leads the team in made threes per game, drilling 1.1 three-pointers per contest while shooting 38 percent from beyond the arc.

On Fubo you have to sign up ( I did the premier level) and then at the end you can choose an add-on for the sports plus package which carries the game. At least it lists it on my directory.

If you do that, you should watch and cancel soon after.

I’m on the road so live stats for me

PAC 12 with that stupid asss network

That’s why no one likes them

Jones with 7 already. 2-3 and 3-3 FT. Keep feeding her

Yeah we need to guard their 3 point shooters. 4-4 now

25-22 Texas after 1

Not much defense tonight - 55% for Texas, 57% for Arizona

Both teams stalled out offensively in the second quarter.

Texas 4 points AZ 6

4:41 left in the half

Zone hurting us

Edited by TommysTinyTowels

Finally some separation. 37-28. Arizona under 40% shooting and haven’t hit another 3 yet

Also Rori 8p, 4r, 6a already. Triple double watch

Booker a nice turnaround, Hadi with a steal and bucket

These refs are keeping Arizona in the game.

Yeah, horseshit calls

Obviously I’m not watching this but i suspect vic had some opinions on the first quarter defense that he relayed at the break.

45-36 Texas at half

Welp, they just hit a three dammit

Great crowd, world class cheerleaders.

2 fouls on Taylor, 3 on Holle. No one else in foul trouble.

Moore hit our only three of the half, we are 1 for 5

Just an observation … Arizona’s coach is better lookin’ than Vic.

2 on Gonzales too. Shows the versatility of this team.

2 of our starters hardly played in the 1st half but up 9.

They are freaking 6 for 6 from three

They have 4 players shooting threes and none have missed

Edited by TommysTinyTowels

Quick 7-0 run in 1 minute

Rori 10-6-9

1 assist from a double double and 4 rebounds and 1 assist from a triple double

64-45 Texas at the 3rd quarter media TO

Teams are sagging on our ability to get to the rim and how tough Jones is to defend inside.

Gonzales should have a green light because she can do this.

Harmon is the leading rebounder in the game

arizona’s leading rebounder is also a guard- she has 3

Edited by Pato del Muerto

Double double for Harmon
