Isn't Audi Crooks basically Lee 2.0?

Ayoka Lee has somehow only committed 57 personal fouls in 25 games (669 minutes) - so roughly .08 fouls per minute
Crooks has committed 67 in 30 games (764 minutes) so roughly .09 fouls per minute

For comparison:

Taylor Jones 81 fouls in 29 games (595 minutes)  - .13 fouls per minute
Gaston 42 fouls in 20 games (366 minutes) - .11 per minute

But I wouldn't call her Lee 2.0 yet - she's only 6'3 and a freshman.  Lee is 6'6 and 23 years old

According to Way, Vic wanted to advance the ball when he called timeout and when Moore called timeout and neither time did the ref either hear him or ignored him

You can call her what you want, but I'll call her King Kong. And King Kong can even shoot 3's, as can every player on their team. They get hot with 3's I don't think Texas can hang. I wouldn't mind seeing some zone to avoid the screens that leave them wide open for 3's but I know Vic won't do that.

If they get hot, then yeah, we are going to have a tough time. They were 7-15 from three in Austin

We won that game because we won the rebounding battle +8 and the turnover margin +6.   We let Crooks get hers (24) but she only had 3 rebounds and we forced her into 4 turnovers.  Really good offensive night from Shaylee and Shay (18 and 16) with Booker's usual 18 and 12 from Moore.

Gaston should be way healthier for this one and she did a good job against Lee, so I'd have her ready to go first off the bench as soon as Jones picks up her first foul trying to defend Crooks.  So roughly 2.5-3 minutes into the game.

You are probably correct in this case.  He has been in zone this year at least once.   He had Ndjakalenga at the top of the zone and she caused problems for the offense. I do not remember if he ran it to avoid the screens or foul trouble.

We've ran zone a couple of times.  We have the length for it.

if I recall correctly (so probably wrong), we ran it more often when Gaston was out because we had to protect Jones and Faye from fouls.

Is this the healthiest and deepest we've been as a team?

Obviously no Rori, but we've gone through stretches of:

  • Moore recovering from last year's injury (early in the year)
  • Jones being out a few games
  • Gaston being out for a bit
  • Faye's disappearance
#1860

Just look at our 4 losses.

6 point L to Baylor (No Harmon or Jones)

3 point L to K-State (No Harmon)

4 point L to OU (No Harmon or Gaston)

1 point L to OU (No Harmon and Faye very limited after returning)

I don't think there's any doubt we would be undefeated with everyone available.

Booker is unreal.

Best mid-range jumper in WBB.  Clark is a better pure shooter, but I'm not sure her mid-range J is as good.

Holy fuck that girl for ISU is a leviathan.

She reminds me of Barkley when he was at Auburn.

Nice response after ISU went on a 6-0 run

19-10 Texas

the three is the next elevation of Booker’s game

I'll take three more quarters just like that.

12-12 from three then? Me too!

#1879

Jones’ defense on Crooks was very good that quarter. And Moore got her to commit a foul. See if we can get an early 2nd foul on her and knock her to the bench

It all starts with Holle. They can't get the ball inside because Holle is disrupting everything with Ryan.

The defense is lockdown but the offense is really clicking

Once again the announcing crew is so depressed. There's only so much you can say about the Cyclone center's "bubbly personality" before admitting they're getting run out of the gym.

Curious what Crème will say about us. But I don’t see us on the 1 seed line but I’d love to be surprised

Can Booker play 40 minutes? We may need it.

Holle has the conditioning to do it.  I think she played all 40 last game and we saw how she finished it.  She's a not a great ball handler, so she doesn't drive much and won't draw the fouls on big gal, but she can do everything else so that someone else can.

Holle has played 40 mpg for like the last month

He said before the game we were a 2 but if we ran Iowa State out of the gym there was hope at a 1.

So....
