Have any of the IT guys predicted a Texas victory? Everyone I’ve heard is going with Bama when it comes to giving a final score.
No. There has been I think 2 Saban disciples that have beat him (Jimbo and Kirby) and those losses were not in Tuscaloosa.

Saban is pretty damn hard to beat at home. However, his team has a lot of flaws. If you jump on them early, they are screwed.

On the flip side, our opponents have a habit of not being screwed when we jump on them early.

The Rice game exposed in painful fashion how little our offense has improved since last year. Ewers is still failing to throw good deep balls. Our receivers still have a dismal drop rate. Our O-line is still struggling with assignments in pass pro. It will come down to a defensive battle, and the team with the better scrambling QB has an advantage in those matchups because they can create off-schedule yards late. There's almost no realistic indicator that Texas is going to walk into Tuscaloosa and win this game.

Good for you but we are beating Bama.

Eleventy billion to nothing.

Bama gets sacked ninety nine times for a negative total yardage of seven hundred eighty four yards.

Bunch of pussies on here didn't have the faith.

I mean- I spent a ton of money- drove most of 24 hours getting there and back and went to the game so I sure as shit had SOME faith. I cleaned up betting Texas every which way, including the money line. I thought we were flat better than then and said so all summer. I coined the phrase Alabraska to describe how we are going to ruin them joining the SEC and in the era of NiL.
I just lost my nerve when the OL was so bad against Rice. But yeah, this is the squad I thought we had for 9 months.

Alabama: 31
Texas: 27
Bama Yardage: 374 - exact same as last year, a metaphor
Texas comes out looking sharper on offense. They look woefully unprepared against Rice so I have to think there was a heavy focus on Bama prep over the past couple weeks. Sark schemes up some points over the first few possessions, a strong Texas defense more or less keeps a lid on Alabama through the first half, and Texas takes a lead into the locker room. The kool aid is flowing, the game thread is a unabashed circle jerk.
Texas finds itself with a 10-14 point third quarter lead... and Alabama has Texas exactly where they want them. We've all seen this movie before. We cling to hope that this time will be different but it feels the exact same as things start to unwind. The Texas offense stalls as they simply cannot run the ball on Alabama's front and Ewers's play deteriorates when he's asked to make plays off script. Alabama's offense isn't doing anything special but as their snap count mounts they start gashing the Texas defense for chunk yardage with regularity. Texas gets the ball back with 3-4 minutes left but can't execute a go-ahead/game-winning drive.

I mentioned this in the game thread, but this was looking spot on through the end of the third quarter… then Texas found another gear, the kind that has eluded them for Sark’s tenure and even going back to the Herman years for some of the guys on the roster.

Really happy for them, and very happy to be wrong.

The blue print to beat the offense is crystal clear, Texas has a successful opening drive to take the lead, defense stone walls Bama and we are feeling good. Texas O comes out, Bama starts showing false fronts pass protection breaks down Ewers take some brutal hits trying to take deep shots and he starts seeing ghosts. Sailing deep balls throwing, into double coverage no push from the line and the Texas offense stalls out. Defense is able to get two takeaways from Milroe in Bama territory but we only get 6 points of them. It’s 10-14 going into the half but the defense gets worn out in the second half and Bama pulls away.

Alabama came into DKR last year with some hubris and expected to roll the Horns. I expect they’ll be more focused in Tuscaloosa with something to prove, and their power running game will wear us down in the 4th.

Ultimately, their roster is still significantly stronger than ours… I was watching their game vs Middle Tennessee, and let’s just say that I didn’t see any Jett Bush or Michael Taeffes on the field.

Bama’s offense can’t get ahead of the sticks all night, stinks up Bryant Denny. Both defenses play balls out. Milroe bails and scrambles 15 times, to little effect. Saban refuses to sub any backup QB for Milroe. Ewers flings 14 long passes, some connect. Sark pulls a hamstring jumping up from a squat, refuses to play subs.

Auburn (spit on ground) and Reichert fill the air with field goal attempts, some connect.

With 1:00 left, up 20-16, Horns are inside their own 5, facing 4th and 13, call time.

Horns punter runs around in the end zone using many of Bama’s precious remaining seconds, giving the safety (Sarks secret plan). Free kick ends up with Bama on its own 30, 50 seconds left in the game. Texas 20, Bama 18. Many fans, remembering grade school arithmetic, become excited.

Three downs net negative 10. On 4th and 20 with 22 seconds left, Milroe scrambles to the Horns 40 but forgets to call time. Saban, steam shooting out of mouth, ears, eyes and nostrils, remembers, and calls time with 2 seconds left.

Reichert nails one from 57.

Big Al fondles the anal cleft of the best looking chaps girl, says later, “You could fit a Bartlett pear up in there!  I’m transferring to Austin!”

With the win, Bama trails Texas all time, 7-3-1. Maybe I’ll live long enough to see the series even.

P.S.
Texas meets Bama again in this year’s playoff. In all of our dreams.
