September 8, 20232 yr For those who don't know, the original Mortal Kombat began its life as an arcade adaptation of Bloodsport. Johnny Cage was the original first designed character for Mortal Kombat, being literally Jean-Claude Van Damm from the movie, hence his nut punch special move and his back story about being a hollywood actor. Unfortunately, they couldn't get Van Damme to agree to use his likeness and he wouldn't film any sprites for the game, so Jean-Claude became the generic knock-off, Johnny Cage. 30 years later, Jean Claude Van Damme finally comes to Mortal Kombat, as the voice actor and model for a special skin for Johnny Cage: Â LMAO at the reference to the Street Fighter Movie in his pre-fight cutscene with Geras.
