That was just the best craziest game from start to finish and I celebrate with all my fellow degenerates. Being mindful of what today is it made the ending sweet. Crazy as it was…

Lmao Bills. Embarrassing lost to say the least. All they had to do was not be terrible and that's an easy win but Allen had other plans. That was  a very bad to start overtime.

They had a couple WTF losses last year, too.

By the way, the Bills punter is fuckin' worthless.  He could have fucking killed the returner but instead he hopped in the air and did everything he could to just GTFO of the way.

Pathetic little girl push.

How about this? The Jets survive on 9/11.

Fuck as drunk as that game was, I need a drink to calm down.

Been fun boys and girls. Hope that MRI has some news!

Halftime prediction.  Pay that man his money.

So what exactly is the offensive false start rule?
Because there were multiple times on the last Bills' drive where there were players on the O-line who threw up their hands right before the snap.

Yep, his 'attempt' was definitely the highlight. Good for Hard Knocks guy.

And Schefter pretty much confirmed Achilles.

Jets’ HC Robert Saleh told reporters that he believes Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury and “it’s not good.”

Yep Rodgers looks done for the year and that could possibly he his career. He will be 40 in a few months coming off a serious injury. Not good.

MetLife is turf and Lambeau is grass?

They didn't guarantee all that money in Rodgers' contract, did they?

Player compensation has been getting real stupid lately, but the biggest problem is these teams guaranteeing huge amounts.  Burrow is getting paid over a QUARTER BILLION dollars for only FIVE YEARS.  Yet the worst part is them guaranteeing $219 million of it.  For a dude that has already lost an entire season to an injury and who got injured this preseason.

Fuckin' yikes.

Yeah those poor NFL owners are gonna go bankrupt

I feel like we are all good doctors of neighborhood. We diagnosed Rodgers pretty fast without an X-ray. But you have to think the Jets can’t possibly roll with Wilson all season. They went all in for the trophy this year

You do understand there is this thing called the salary cap, right?

Couldn't give a single, solitary fuck about the owners.  But Joe Burrow's contract counts for over 24% of the Bengal's cap space.

The salary cap is there because the owners want it there.

Artificial turf is fucking stupid. Period. Out of sheer fucking boredom I watched a whole piece on the Raiders stadium and their turf.

The Las Vegas Raiders play on a natural grass turf that is grown outdoors on a tray and rolled into the stadium for games. It was a cool bit to watch.

Turf sucks dick. I’m surprised we don’t have a standalone thread about this.

Think we did at one point. The Athletic had an article about it. Comes down to what you suspect, owners being cheap.

I totally agree. My Godson, the boy who plays now for St. Louis City in MLS, when he reached a certain age in Germany they were no longer allowed to play on the field turf. It had to be grass.

I think when he was 13, or 14, no more turf. Only grass.

#589

Was the turf really a factor on that one? Seems like a lot of forces happening on a planted foot there. Not sure grass makes a difference. But yeah, turf sucks.

Half the NFL is domed now, not every place can do the Zona/Vegas grass tray. New sod every game has its problems too. Not sure the solution there.

Yep. Hard to maintain that grass with all those dudes running and cutting around on it.

Saw video this morning, it's definitely his Achilles.  You can see his calf ripple when it tears.

Particularly not feasible for that stadium since two teams play there.

Cowboys and Giants tear up a grass field in the rain and then you have to turn around and have it ready for MNF?  Good luck.

Yeah. Not sure that people who bang the drum for natural grass really understand how difficult it is to get it ready to go after a game has been played on it. It doesn't just magically grow back the next day. And you can't just re sod every week or you'll have what we had in the super bowl.

At a certain point you just have to understand that we're watching football. Giant people running and cutting. Injuries are gonna happen no matter what surface they use.

#598

So, now that Rodgers is done, what NFL player will the media fellate for the remainder of the season?

When the Texans had natural grass at NRG with the large tray system, it had seams that caused a lot of injuries and was easily torn up. Once they moved to artificial turf, it has become a much safer surface. The key is to have artificial turf surface without a lot of black pellet infill like they have at MetLife or at DKR. Texans and Cowboys have the best product available when it comes to artificial turf.

I don’t think this injury was the result of the field turf. He got torqued weird in a awkward tackle with a 300lb lever on one end. Those spinning takedowns are always full of danger to the tacklee. Field turf doesn’t have anywhere close to the problems of old Astro turf.

When Jerry built ATT he had A&M and Oklahoma State turf folks and the nfl turf experts come in to study the feasibility of grass. There were various tricks like grow lights and irrigation systems but they were feasible as the stadium is in constant use. There are several fields: the Cowboys turf. The field he uses for college games. A structure for dirt they use for monster trucks and rodeo. And they had a grass field on a tray for Mexican soccer. I don’t know if they still have it or if they will use it with the World Cup coming.

The original plans for the new Rangers stadium were for grass and they gave up.
