wasnt sure if this should be put in Gambol or here. I chose here because there are now some unconfirmed reports that players club card info may have been stolen,  downloaded and this could end up being a full identity theft situation for anyone who has ever gotten a MGM rewards card.

Although thats still a rumor at this point but the FBI is involved.  Its being reported as a ransomware attack, which sounds accurate based on the stories out there.

Basically every MGM property in the US is having major issues.  numerous reports of dead room phones, unusable keycards, rewards cards not giving comps, not accumulating points, and actual bricked slot machine pictures are all over the web.  also multiple times MGM has announced:

only to have everything re-brick several hours later-  which makes sense if the backup image the security team is using to try and reset everything has the ransomware code hidden somewhere in it, and it takes the code a few hours to retake over everything.

If you were planning on going to any MGM property this weekend, you might want to change your plans to a non-MGM resort.   lots of pics of slot machines looking like this:

the part that makes no sense to me, is how the fuck is each resort not firewalled from the others?   -nevermind how the fuck player club info isnt completely walled off from the phone, keycard system

OK, you hacked MGM Vegas, but MGM Detroit, MGM Springfield, MGM Tunica and MGM New Orleans should NOT be fucking down as well.  But the reports are saying those properties have been impacted as well.

when this is all done the MGM CTO, CIO and maybe even CEO are all gonna get fired.

Crazy that hackers saying it took them 10 mins to get into network and it was done boa social engineering.

Called MGM help desk posing as employee and got their login info.

Unreal.

I’m headed to LV tomorrow for a conference. Fortunately not staying at MGM property.

If you basically have access to an unlimited budget, the only excuse for letting this breach happen is laziness or greed.

greed.

Welcome to the world of publicly traded companies trying to cut as much as possible from their expenses.

Crazy that slot machine players of all people would be the ones to get scammed.

Am I a gambler?  No.  Almost "not at all."  Except....we stayed at an MGM property last year, and I got one of those stupid fucking cards.  FFS.

Las Vegas strip club offers free lap dances to MGM guests affected by cyberattack

Quote

Las Vegas visitors who got stressed out by the cyberattack can unwind at a strip club ... where they're offering up free lap dances, among several other perks, for affected tourists.

Larry Flynt's Hustler Club in Las Vegas is going the extra mile to make sure MGM Resorts guests who were caught up in the cyberattack still have a great time in Sin City.

Among the freebies for those who had their trips thrown for a loop ... free airport pickup, luggage storage for those experiencing check-in delays, complimentary $1,200 platinum VIP membership and lap dances on the house.

The GM of Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club Brittany Rose tells TMZ ...“Our hearts go out to both the employees as well as the tourists who have been affected by this devastating event. As members of the hospitality industry, we decided to do our part to help improve the guest experience during their visit to Las Vegas which will in turn alleviate the stress of the employees who are so diligently handling the situation.”

As we reported ...  the cyberattack started at the beginning of the week, preventing some guests from getting into their rooms or checking in altogether. The attack then spiraled into issues with casino slot machines and the phone lines went down, among other issues.

Larry Flynt's says guests who are at least 21 years old just need to show proof of a valid hotel reservation at any MGM property from this week to take advantage of the freebies, but the free fun ends Sunday.

The cyberattack at MGM proved to be a boom for another Sin City gentlemen's club ... Strip Club Concierge tells us their club saw a spike in foot traffic, reservations and ride service usage in the wake of the attack ... with strippers bringing in up to $2,000 more per night.

This is what makes America great yet so many of the very people on this thread want to become expats.  🤣

I love it.  These enterprising young ladies who are just trying to pay for college are always the first responders.  They have hearts of gold

According to a white hat hacker on Tik Tok, the entire mgm empire will have to throw out every piece of hardware they have, and every piece of software. The hackers will have installed thousands of pieces of back door code everywhere and attacks will just occur continuously for the next several years. This is not going away soon, and even if it looks like it’s resolved, hackers will just be stealing information via these backdoor access points without them knowing. He said it is one of the most sophisticated black hat attackers behind the attack. He estimated the cost to mgm of over $1 billion. I wouldn’t plan to stay at any property there for the next five years.

Yes, but how many idiots don't track stuff like this and will be happy to go stay there. Have never been, have no desire.

Good thing I already had this in my life plan.

It should be an act of war for any country to knowingly harbor these groups.
