Explain this to me like I’m five.  It doesn’t matter what VPN I use. Fanduel knows I’m in Texas.  How do I get around this?  Literally every video said this wouldn’t happen.  I am confused.  I’m connected to servers in appropriate states.

Can’t speak to desktops or laptops but phones have geolocation to know where you are.  You can turn on vpn for another city but your phone knows exactly where you are.

i assume spoofing your geolocation is easier on android than iphone.

This.

The betting apps have a vpn detector built in. If they detect that you are using a vpn they say it looks like you're using a vpn, please turn it off and refresh. I haven't tried very hard but I haven't found a way around this.

Clearly @PilotsError did not appreciate my post, nor yours.  Yet he wants to gamble online.  He's gonna have to make a decision on that one.

What a thin skinned little bitch.
