He is fast and does not go down easy.  Very nice combination.

That's what she (South Austin's mom) said!

Flame away, but he’s better than Roschon.  He’s a poor man’s JC.

JC was a burner and a slasher. Brooks is a physical back who has some speed. He is not a poor man's JC, he is a rich man's Keontay Ingram.

Ok so we have comps to Rochon, Ced, Arian Foster, and JC. Lets go ahead and throw in Earl and Barry Sanders while we're at it.

Yeah we're all over the place. I see Darren Sproles mixed with a little Jerome Bettis.

"Just thanking my O-Linemen."Jonathon Brooks rushed for 106 yards and 2 TD in last night's Texas win. His 2nd-straight 100+ yard rushing performance.#HookEm @2brookss

JC was plenty physical at the collegiate level. I’d argue he was a better choice for goal line runs than Henry Melton by a country mile.

I like watching him in the video of the 1st post.. You can see his improvement as he gets more and more comfortable with the position.

that 4th and 1 against ohio state still pisses me off

I still remember when aggy was happy they won out on the LJ Johnson recruitment. I said back then that Brooks would have a better college career, because Johnson didn't appear to like playing football. aggy is now peak late tenure Mack Brown, chasing star rankings with little to no development.

There's not enough comparisons on this thread so I'm going to say he reminds me a lot of Joe Bergeron.

Kind of like the opposite of the Ced Benson/Derek Farmer debate.  Many aggys would have bet their life Farmer was going to better than Ced Benson and that Benson was overrated.  Oh look how the tables turned.  Brooks is going to hit 1k yards this year and Johnson might transfer (if he hasn't already).

Ask AJ Hawk if JC was physical

The only difference is that Jimbo had his good years at another school.

That was freshman JC vs All American upperclassman AJ Hawk.  I was at that game, you could hear the hit!

JBrooks kinda reminds me of Blake Gideon if Gideon was black, athletic, had good ball control, and played running back

You’re an idiot. Gideon was listed four pounds heavier than Brooks coming out of HS

It’s a good thing we didn’t have Bad Motherfucker awards that year.  I would have had to mortgage my house to keep up.

Jonathon Brooks showing the moves 🕺

this should be in this thread, probably his best run

Leaders in missed tackles forced this season⚡️

Great back. Glad he’s on our team.

To me he favors Shon Mitchell /Jamal Charles.  Roshon always reminded me more of Chris O.  Shon wasn’t here all that long but I see a lot of him in J Brooks.

Kinda like whoever comes in right after Saban finally hangs up the headset, Brooks had the tall task of not only taking over feature back from one of top 5 Longhorn RB's of all time, but fending off a highly touted 5* Freshman. I think he's getting in the groove and making a name for himself this year. Yes, JB can have that wallet.

This move looks a little Bijanesque.

Reminds me of a faster Selvin Young

Or should you say freshman/sophomore pre-injury, pre-weight gain Selvin…
#98

Ok, that didn't work. It was JB's 70 yard td in the 4th quarter of last year's game.
