Figured it out.  It was when he lied that he had never met Clanton.  And I said:

Doubling down on lying is never a good idea man. You know damn well you know him just like all other Astros fans/media do. Just stop. You were wrong, it was dumb, move on

That got me blocked ahahahahahahaha

What a douchebag. I'll go block him on Twitter too, if enough people do it, it will downrate his tweets.

Free-agent C Martin Maldonado, who has been a key piece of the Astros’ success for the past four-plus seasons, is already drawing interest from 4-5 teams, per sources.

The Mexican League needs catchers too.

I just cannot imagine re-signing him.  He is old, fat, slow, cannot hit, and cannot play defense.  Get a rookie from Triple A that costs less and who you will never be tempted to start more than one time per week.  Or some league average backup veteran.

Just now on #LateHits @espn975, @Bnightengale told me he doesnt believe Brad Ausmus is a serious contender for the #Astros managerial job. That his name has disappeared lately from those conversations.Said he thinks the job will ultimately be Espada's.

Lance Berkman’s 1997 season at Rice is laugh out loud funny

I still can't believe we kept him in the minors for 2-1/2 years.

MLB scouting is shitty.

Jake Taylor was a hell of a bunter, too.

But can we talk about how ludicrous it was to have him hit in the 2-hole behind Willie Mays Hayes?  Horrible lineup construction.

We just going to ignore that somehow we couldn't find a place for that guy at Texas despite his desire to come here?   Just crazy.

Lance was sneaky athletic for a guy that looks a lot closer to Kruk than Acuna

Lance deserved more HOF votes, even though he wasn't a HOFer.

I agree with you.  Though somewhere between 5 and 10% of the hall wasn't as good of a player as Lance.

Yeah, he deserved to hang on the ballot all 10 years at least

They had to cancel the gm meetings because of a stomach bug that was going around.  Maybe Brown will hire a manager when he when he can get off of the shitter.

Joe Espada is expected to be named the new manager of the Astros tomorrow, per @BNightengale This is HUGE news for the Astros!Joe brings continuity to the Astros who have been to 7 straight ALCS and were 1 win away from the World Series.

Correct hire, and really the only correct one available.  He has the trust of the clubhouse and has earned the shot.  Should have gotten it this year

Game 2 line up

Dusty fucked up the Opening Day lineup this year, so not having to bitch until Game 2 would be an improvement.

Changing line ups ???

Quote

Joe Espada is an analytics first mindset. When he was with the Yankees, he brought an emphasis in the shift in New York.

Espada will make lineups based on matchups, working with front office.

Espada is loved by the players as well, and several pushed for him to be hired.

Astros third base coach Gary Pettis won't be returning to the team for the 2024 season, per sources. The Astros will have to find new coaches to fill the bench coach and 3B coach position.

Is he choosing to retire?  In any case best of luck to windmill, I really liked him.
