Astros on TV today.

Lineup today might be pretty close to the opening day lineup.

Anyone read Lindy's baseball preview? They have a very, very surprising pick for where the Astros finish 2024. Not 5th in the AL West - even more surprising. Here it is.

3rd in the AL Central!

I'm going to need Altuve to get some more ground ball practice going.  He's been super iffy on almost every play his way.  I know it's early and it will be fine, but it's standing out

José Urquidy said he discovered this offseason that he was tipping some of his pitches by how he moved/squeezed his glove in his delivery. He worked this winter to solve that in addition to strengthening his lat/shoulder area where he got hurt last season.

I'm not a nitpicker on stuff like that.  It's been really iffy.  Including missing a ball right at him on an easy play from SS to 2B.  Again, he'll be fine, but just striking to see it

Well the Dodgers just went 1-2-3 to start their game against the White Sox. Ohtani struck out looking to a guy named Garrett Crochet. I guess they suck too.

Yeah, complaining in February is really knitpicky.

I take zero stock in anything we do good or bad in spring training. Season is a grind so I don’t even watch the games and just check the stats later. Season can’t get here fast enough though.

Only thing that really makes a shit this ST is BP arms.....and of course no injuries.  Yordan could go 0-28 and I would give zero fucks.  But guys like Coleman are important to watch because he can't keep his shit under control so he better figure it out fast or next man up.

Unlike the bats, the posters are ready for the regular season.

Speaking of, can we please get a consensus on the date the regular season thread should start? I don’t want @henrygandorf and @Hank Kingsley to have to issue an amber alert again if I’m tied up and not watching this thread on D-Day. Wednesday, March 27?

Do we really want spring training bitchassdness in the season thread? There’s a natural day off between the last exhibition game and the reg season opener against the Yankees.

I just looked back at my texts and that year it was March 30.

I vote for whatever day you did it in 2022.
