November 20Nov 20 Lots of great movies and casts listed in the thread. However some of those suggested are focused more on the star power, or acknowledged great actors, or sheer quantity of actors. Am watching the 2009 Star Trek remake. Their casting choices were phenomenal. Many of the actors were known but not yet huge stars. And the fit with the previous Star Trek characters was outstanding. They didn’t come across as Rich Little impersonators, but they captured the essence of the previous characters. Whoever did casting for that movie did an incredible job.

Henry Rollins was cool but not exactly critical to the casting. But good nomination. November 23Nov 23 Michael Clayton. Not the longest list of stars, or the biggest stars, but a very well-thought-out application of their talents. And none of them really typecast. Edited November 23Nov 23 by TwiceHorn

That might have been the greatest casting job of all time. They were all perfect for the parts.

That was a meh movie rated 53% on rotten tomatoes. Just throwing a whole bunch of well known actors into a movie isn’t great casting imo.
November 24Nov 24 The prompt is best cast, not most well casted (that may not be a word, but work with me). If it were the latter, I may go with The Big Chill or Dead Poets Society, in which both had mostly relative unknowns. If we're just talking about most talented cast in a single movie, Mars Attacks is just a notch below the big super hero movies.

I guess I don’t like the OP’s thread, because it could imply just throwing a bunch of money at a bunch of big name actors. This thread insists upon itself.
