February 12Feb 12 Suns/Grizzlies at halftime on TNT. Grizzlies working them and up 12 but Durant has 19 in the first half and is 7 points away from becoming the 8th player to score 30,000 points in the NBA. In case anyone wants to tune in.
February 12Feb 12 That Texas fans demand a top 10 basketball program yet at the same time don't give a shit when a former Horn becomes the 8th player in NBA history to put up 30,000 tells you all you need to know.
February 12Feb 12 Now KD is bringing the Suns back after being down close to 20 earlier. Memphis up 4 ~8mins to go in the 4Q.

You got me to tune in. pretty incredible to see him join that list On one hand, feels just like yesterday he was dropping 30 on the Aggies at the Drum

His teammates didn't do him any favors. 34/3/3, 1 steal, 5 blocks and played 43 minutes at 36. I hope he makes one more move before he retires. I know he's at times been the architect of his demise but he doesn't deserve this dogshit in Phoenix.

If injuries hadn't happened. career wise, no. but i actually think that KD is LeBron’s equal, he’s just won fewer titles because he’s spent his entire career in the west playing on mismanaged teams, outside of his stint in GS, where he was the clear best player/alpha one of the greatest and most talented teams of all time. i’ve always believed that if you switched LeBron and KD’s teams (so, let KD play with bosh and wade under the guidance of Spo and Riley while LeBron fights russell westbrook for the ball in okc) that it would be KD who has more titles and mvps than lebron, and it would be KD who is considered this generations best player. Oh, ability wise absolutely. If KD had stayed at GSW, I think he gets two more titles at least and likely stays ahead of Steph. KD also has had some substantial injuries. For me career wise he's top 15, with Giannis nipping at his heels

I have KD with guys like Hakeem and Moses.

KD made some head scratching career moves, and missed some time, but peak KD for me is easily top 10. I realize that's not how it works, but take every player at peak form, and KD easily sticks in the top 10. Pure hooper with questionable decision making skills as it relates to the business of basketball. Unrelated, but I put Jokic in the top 5 all time by the same metric, and if he stays healthy and plays another 8-10 years....
February 18Feb 18 Didn't see this posted after a quick review of a couple of boards. But even if it is already posted, worth doing again: https://twitter.com/i/status/1891578363019469264 Apologies for the linkage, but I couldn't find any quick way to directly link the video of KD's emotional response to a question about the impact of basketball and the Olympics on his life. Edited February 18Feb 18 by Hayduke damn link
February 19Feb 19 Apologies for not linking or embedding but saw a video earlier of Kyrie goofing around taking a handful of cash from Mr. Beast's stash that he set up for his dumb shooting challenge during the ASG... And KD grabbing it from him and putting it back in the tub for the kid who won the challenge. I thought that was cool.

He's kind of like the village elder of the NBA right now. There are certain guys that other NBA players hold in higher regard than the pundits and media and general fanbase does and KD is absolutely one of them. I mean he's a total fucking legend at this point. He may never be one of the 10 "best" players to ever play but it feels like he's an absolute icon in that fraternity of players in a way that very few guys ever have been. I can't wait to hear the stories that come out when he retires. You know there are some absolute zingers out there that guys have held on to. I would kill to see him make one more good playoff run. It's been too long. Excited to get to see him play live for just the 2nd time as a pro here in a couple of days. Edited February 19Feb 19 by ztejas
February 21Feb 21 This game is a perfect KD moment. A supposed top 10 player taking less shots than Royce “fucking” O’Neal. The ball don’t lie. KD is a beta and always needed the Warriors more than they needed him (Draymond was right).
February 21Feb 21 considering that he was the warriors best player, their two time finals mvp, the guy who hit the game winning three in the finals, and the guy who was on his way to a third finals mvp before his injury, i’m gonna have to disagree with you on this one.

There is a difference between being the best player and being the alpha player. The alpha player drags his team to wins - KD is not capable of that (unless he is playing with other great players -- see Team US and Warriors).

He let me down tonight but it's whatever. I don't think he's done. He has a little gas left in the tank. What do you have? More nasty, unnecessary bullshit to vomit on the KD thread?

Shove all of those down your throat then tell us what's bothering you.
February 21Feb 21 The Suns are 1-7 over their last 8. The one game they won was without KD. They are fighting for play-in, every game matters. PHX doesn't have their own pick and they have the highest payroll in the league. They just lost a game to SA without Wemby with KD taking the 3rd most shots on the team. ---chatGPT says... Michael Jordan took the third most shots on his team in a game only once during his NBA career when the Chicago Bulls ended up losing that game. This unusual occurrence happened during the 1993 season in a game against the Chicago Bulls vs. the Phoenix Suns on March 17, 1993. Edited February 21Feb 21 by Fastbreak
February 21Feb 21 No doubt KD is starting to wane some and this is where Booker needs to stop being a puss and step the fuck up, time to be a dawg.

We just going to ignore the fact that the one game they won without KD was against the second worst team in the league and it took a buzzer beater to get to OT even with Booker dropping 47? Context is difficult..

February 26Feb 26 Ishbia is a fucking buffoon. He's butthurt that he got fleeced multiple times, so he careened into asking an outrageous price for KD. Hopefully this sad hostage situation ends in the summer and KD gets one last ride somewhere stable and competent. Edited February 26Feb 26 by CurlyDumps

February 27Feb 27 KD doesn't want to lead the team in shots. He is a hoops sicko. He is trying to perfect the game. Listened to a bit of him on the Draymond/Baron Davis podcast at the gym today. His perfect game is going 9-11 from the field and 2-3 from deep with a couple of efficient trips to the line. And my favorite part about the current iteration of KD is that he doesn't care what you think. He just wants to hoop.

He had some games like that late in the 2019 regular season, just incredibly efficient. I really believe that if he had not gotten hurt, he was going to Godzilla that playoffs. Remember, in the first round, Beverley explaining why they couldn’t stop him? “He’s Kevin Durant, man. He’s Kevin Durant”.

Then, he came back in the finals, was putting on another “man among boys” exhibition, and tore his Achilles. Oh, to have seen what he would have done e healthy.
July 4Jul 4 KD was a guest on Mind the game with Steve Nash and Bron. Part 1 dropped this week. Highly recommend for basketball nerds. It's on YouTube. Looking forward to Part 2.
