I didn't even realize Ketamine could be addictive. I guess I'm showing my age and naiveté as I've never had ketamine.

Well they haven’t mentioned his poor dog but I won’t share it.

A terrible story but at the root is a celeb with a powerful personality and gobs of money, addicted to just about everything. Not defending these shitbags but without them he would have been on the street procuring the drugs. They simply provided the express lane, but Perry wasn’t going to find an off ramp to sobriety.

What I assume is a pretty reliable/accurate timeline of events leading to his death.

Sad indeed.  I often wonder about the use of addictive substances in the treatment of addiction.  It's troublesome.  Whether Ketamine is truly addictive seems not to be known, but there is often tolerance and withdrawal associated with systematic use, so that's a pretty good indicator.

Imagine being so devoid of morals and testicles that you’re shooting up your 25-year employer with ketamine multiple times per day. Ketamine that you purchased with 55 grand of his money.

Everyone in this story is a disgusting vampire, Perry included.

That is a brutal article.

I hate to get all technical here, but why are they saying his death was an OD? I thought he drowned in the jacuzzi after being left alone following a dose of Ketamine.

It’s like if someone was drunk and passed out in the hot tub and died. Would you call it alcohol poisoning or drowning? Does it depend on how much of the substance was found in your system?

Either way he was bound to overdose sooner than later based on how things were looking in this timeline. I know Matthew Perry struggled most of his adult life with addiction and I always felt like he would have a sad Anna Nicole Smith type of ending.

Well, I haven't done a deep dive, but the death certificate would state a cause of death, presumably accidental drowning from intoxication or something else.

But, one of the key features of narcotics, anesthetics, and CNS depressant drugs is suppression/inhibition of respiration.  Meaning you drown without water, basically.  And probably aspiration of water puts it in the lungs, and would be fairly obvious indicator of one or the other in an autopsy.

I know what you mean. Hoping he might someday overcome his addictions would be akin to any delusions you'd ever amount to being a decent poster.
