THE College Football Playoff Rankings Thread [MICH,WASH,TEX,ALA]

So far, so good. If FSU loses, we should be in. For sure if Georgia takes care of business, we are. Bama wins, they're in, but is Georgia out? Possibly not. Watching, we can only be.

Man, we're just 3 games away from 4 power 5 teams finishing the season 13-0 ( plus a 13-0 G5 team to boot)

Of all the years, this will probably be the year it happens.

No, Oregon winning would have been better for Texas because it could have or would have (depending on tomorrow's results) created a decision to be made.

But it's over now. Need a loss by FSU or Michigan (ha).

It's 4 undefeated teams you tip your cap and move on. Now if we get screwed with other 1 loss teams I'll lose it.

That's how I feel. Makes me glad Oregon lost because they probably would have gotten in over us with a win and didn't really deserve to.

Hot air, it was already decided.

I don't believe for a second the committee would have jumped us over Oregon had they won. I don't think tonight's game affected our chances one bit.

Given that, I'm glad Oregon lost. We win and the committee will FINALLY put us ahead of them.

We already know what that decision would have been. They already made it. The committee wears Bo Nix pajamas.

I guess we should just let these people believe they were suddenly going to move Oregon down after beating an undefeated Washington for the conference championship. Like, oh shit, we’ve been mistaken for weeks now and they just had their best win of the season, but our bad.

0.1% (or whatever it would have been)  is better than 0%. Not my fault you don't understand simple probability.

It wasn't that simple, but you go ahead and keep telling yourself that your big brane has all the answers.

Mixed feelings because i thought an oregon win increased our odds.

I wish I could say that this shows to the committee their eye test is flawed but I think that's optimistic

Win tomorrow and let's see how the chips fall

Texas is in with a win AND an FSU loss, Michigan loss, or UGA loss. We need one upset tomorrow.

Edited by The_Great_Hornsby

Fuck it, just win. I think we get to 5 with a win if everyone else does. Best case is 4.

Seriously?  Wow, good catch.

God damn for the millionth time. Pick two of Texas, Oregon, and Bama. That was a legit possibility and probably a, I don’t know, 25% chance of Oregon being the team left out. Washington winning helps us 0 possible percent.

Tks. Was really ironic that was the typo in the sentence.

It wasn't a typo.

How? Big 10 would no longer have an undefeated team. Michigan would not be a conference champion. Neither would Ohio State. And Iowa isn't in the mix. We would be ahead of both Michigan and Ohio State

I was talking to a friend just now about the Oregon loss. Then mentioned FSU and rankings.

My friend is an aggy but really good dude.

His reply "Yeah, I know what it's like to be left out of the playoffs."

You’re correct about Oregon but I prefer DeBoer to Lanning so there’s that. I’m also increasingly convinced that we get in with a win in Arlington and a win by any one of Louisville, Bama or Iowa. I don’t see a scenario where we lose out to another 1-loss team if there aren’t four undefeated conference champs. Obviously, a win by Louisville makes it academic.

Yeah read that wrong lol

Washington is locking in a spot. It isn't ideal, but not the end of the world. Oregon winning a tight one while looking bad would have been better.

I am having a hard time picturing that game. If Oregon had gotten that onside kick and gone down and scored the Bo Nix Legend would have been secured and everyone would be saying it was the most glorious thing ever. No way they get left out.

I mean how do you look bad beating a 12-0 #3 ranked team in a championship game?

Eh, UW winning a second head to head match after the committee wrongly thought the "eye test" had proved that Oregon was gonna roll Washington in the rematch may give them pause when thinking the same about Alabama and Texas. Honor the head to head and not whatever eye test bullshit you think you know.

They did that to Baylor and TCU the very first year of this bullshit.  None of the rankings matter but the last one.

Looking for Georgia win and FSU loss. Sets up Michigan vs Washington Rose Bowl, which would be great and make them happy with a B10 vs P12 Rose Bowl. Would also give us a Georgia vs Texas Sugar Bowl rematch ahead of Georgia going to Austin next year.

Bunch of ints or fumbles. Just generally a sloppy game. It was looking that way for a hot second with the back to back picks.

Correct. None of the prior rankings mean anything.

Not that I give a shit what he thinks, but the more media member that are vocal about this the better imo

UW was my favorite Pac school so for them to stomp on everyone and go 13-0 is a fitting end to that conference. Sure would have been nice to have had 4 teams at 13-0 with Georgia, Texas, Michigan, & Washington facing off.

In the meantime rooting for Alabama & Louisville tomorrow

It’s true and yet I can’t bring myself to be upset that the eye test national champs lost to their biggest rival, again

Alabama and Louisville wins probably gets us in to the playoff. Georgia and Louisville wins definitely gets us in to the playoff. So maybe root for that.

Plus an asskicking of OSU obviously.

Does the Bo Nix bobble-head doll now come with a towel over its head?

Even if Texas gets shut out, they still are ahead of Oregon with a win, which is nice.

If Bama loses they will drop and make our best win a little less.  Winning the CCG will help though, but it is pretty murky to me.  Either way FSU has to lose, and if Michigan also lost I wouldn't be at all upset...

We need to win our game convincingly regardless. No last minute FG. No OT. We must crush. Destroy. Pulverize. And I sincerely am hoping for the Michigan Iowa game to bring some fun drama. Like low scoring weirdness. That would be great. Plus, Iowa now has a walk on kicker that just made his first field goal last week. Huge! Lol.

Seems like a loss by Michigan or FSU, coupled with a Jawja win gets Texas in if the Longhorns beat okie lite.

Oregon with 2 losses is out.

omg stop with this shit. Alabama is not getting in over us unless we go 4OT with OSU in a shit game and they run Georgia out of the building.

Loss by Michigan or FSU is all we need. We aren't getting passed up for a 1 loss Georgia. Just not how the playoffs have worked.

Eh. Sure that’s what I’m hoping for but if we win, Georgia wins, and FSU loses it doesn’t matter what any of those games looked like. We’re dancing.

Agreed. I would like for the Georgia v Bama game to be a close one that Georgia wins. Makes our win over Bama still look good. But we better take care of business because I might burn some Christmas decorations if we lose but everything else lines up for us to have gotten in if we’d have won.
