Jesus, this was good year but yeah. The conference championship felt hollow knowing our hopes hinged on a Louisville team winning tonight.

We won head to head. Stop being a pussy.

Did you ever say Georgia had to win?

No. Because I’m not a moron.

1. Michigan

2. Washington

3. Florida State

4. Texas

I’m not sure the playoff committee has the balls to leave out an undefeated power 5 conference champion, but it would probably be better for the playoff ratings if they did, and I believe that might be an unspoken criteria in their decision making.  I mean, when it comes to eyeballs watching the playoff, Michigan v Bama and Washington v Texas is sexier than any scenario that includes Florida State, especially w/o their QB, and ratings matter to sponsors

Don't tell Wilcox the troll.

this woman has been on radio shows (XM) and podcasts saying UT would be left out if Bama beat UGA.. said she doesn't care what happened in September when a first year starter in his 2nd game lost and the committee will feel the same.  She even said that if FSU lost, UGA would be the 4 seed over UT

If I hear that fucking "that ain't the same Alabama team" narrative again I'm going to murder someone.

It isn't the same Texas team either fuckers. Just maybe they're better too recently?

Just last week Bama needed a 30 yard TD pass at the end to beat Auburn. It is hard to make a case that they have turned into this juggernaut since we beat them.

Well, this whole thing is just who knows who. Then over here, you have favoritism.

so we’ve had 2 weeks and a billions posts and now that all the games are done, we still have no fucking clue what’s going to happen?!?

My guess is:

UM

UW

FSU

UT

I don’t see the committee leaving the undefeated P5 champs out and I think the committee respects the h2h over Bama as well as how dominant we’ve looked the last 2 weeks.

This analysis is flawed because there's no accounting for Bo Nix's completion percentage.

Honestly the committee has one of the easiest years with 3 undefeated teams and the 2 remaining power 5 teams having played each other.

Wut?  TCU lost the Big 12 title game and still made the playoff.

Sorry in 14..

Texas over Bama, FSU in as well. Any other answer is a con game, period. SEC OOC record was shit. Texas, Bama, Georgia, Bama over Georgia and Texas over Bama. Anything else is theft, theft of opportunity.

I don't give a damn what our seed is, what our opponent is, nothing.  Put us in.  #4, #1, it don't make a shit.  We're Texas.  This team is fucking rolling.

Dumb question but when will the seeds be released?

I just released seed in your mom

This is the national narrative from almost everyone. Between FSU and Bama.

And these are ESPN's top headlines

  • Tide beat UGA, then state CFP case: We belong
  • Smart: Georgia still among 'the best four teams'
  • FSU goes with freshman Glenn in ACC title game
  • TCU stuns G'town as officials can't overturn shot
  • Texas exits Big 12 with title, makes case for CFP

Yeah, but you're talking logic, we're talking about college football.

And the CFP committee can fuck around this year and then say "oh, my bad, well we're going to 12 next year so no worries, it won't happen again!"

Yeah. Fuck those guys. They can stay home.

Michigan vs Alabama - Bama Wins 24-17

Texas vs Florida State -Texas wins 69-3

Texas vs Alabama Texas wins by 12

This is where I’m at right now. No other way to spin it. 3 undefeateds and the head to head seals it. But who fucking knows

which means if we’re left out shit will hit fans

FSU backup would be back by playoffs so I think that we have to represent the Big 12 and SEC this year.  Problem solved.

They keep saying it's really difficult this year...

The difficulty they are referring to is SEC not getting in. That's it. That's the only difficulty in figuring out this, and as you note there is ample reason and logic to do so.

It's not difficult, just unique.

I could maybe see Bama passing us if we had beat them by 1 in Austin... but we stomped their little bitch Gump assess in Tuscaloosa by double digits. Fuck the sister fuckers and fuck all y'all pussies who think they're getting in over us. With that being said... its bedtime for me. Goodnight and hook 'em!

Liucci is saying the same thing. That our H2H win over Bama should get us in.

aggys and sooners even recognize the obvious here. That H2H over Bama should be the deciding factor when you're comparing similar resumes and that's an actual fucking criteria the committee prioritizes.

They should be excluded purely because of their tomahawk chop and cultural insensitivity. And they play in a terrible conference against bad competition.

I’m pretty sure they have the support of the Seminole nation.

Of course, this is according to my FSU friend.

Washington playing FSU is a violation of the Genva Convention.

It’s a dumb chick, dismiss.

Texas is the only conference champion with a solid H2H win over another conference champion.

Texas is IN.

Their original headline was that Bama "awaits the CFP" like they are guaranteed to be in. We know who they are backing during this politicking..

Clay Travis is an idiot but I think he frames this well.

The problem with the “best” is that it takes a lot of eye test into account. They fell flat on their face putting Oregon in front of both Texas and Bama. There was plenty of evidence for Texas/Bama but somehow completion percentage was in play? Having bama jump over an undefeated FSU would make them look stupid imo. They’re going with more deserving so they can save face. Maybe they will go full out “deserving” and put the undefeated teams ahead of us and in return we can kick the shit out of Michigan.

I agree. Three are in and easy. You got head to head of the three 1 loss teams. Easy. Done.

Crazy stat mentioned today:  Saban is 11-1 in SEC championship game appearances 🤯

Was his only loss the first one at Bama? UF?

So if the SEC gets left out, then it is all LSU fault...

By losing to FSU early in the season, FSU got to finish off undefeated. So now, with the USG loss to Bama the SEC gets left out all because of LSU... so don't bitch to us, blame the swamp kittys

If they want FSU in, they should think of Texas as the rep for BIG 12 and SEC. I'm pretty sure I've already seen SEC promotional materials claiming Texas anyway.

They can't put Bama in without us. I know some of you guys are still jaded from 08, but every talking head sees it that way. It's between FSU/Bama for the 4 spot.

I already made a thread about this (but it got deleted because there are so many shell-shook pussies on this board).  Texas WILL be in the playoff.  It will be made official tomorrow at noon.  Bama beating Georgia sealed that outcome for us.  Let me spell it out for you.

The committee has continuously communicated with their weekly rankings that they value the Texas head-to-head win over Bama, and the committee specifically reiterated the importance of head-to-head THIS WEEK.  They’ve been very consistent in keeping Texas ranked ahead of Bama ALL season.  There’s no reason at all to assume that the committee will change up now.  Most of the talking heads have Texas at #3 right now and believe that the #4 spot is a battle between Bama and FSU.  We are fucking good this year.  The national media and public perception of Texas has finally realized it (granted, the Oregon and Georgia losses helped with this--resulting in less total cock for the media to gobble).

The bottom line is, we are going to the playoff.  The only real question at this point is whether we'll be playing Michigan in the Rose Bowl or Washington in the Sugar Bowl.  I don't know who the committee will pick between FSU and Bama and frankly I don't care.  I think it'd be LOLhilarious if the SEC missed out on the playoff in the final year of the 4-team format (which is a very real possibility).
