December 3, 20232 yr If Louisville had Arch they win by twenty. I'm not sure what that really means. But the committee will take it into due consideration. If fsu had bo nix they’d be number 1. Instead they’ll be number 4
December 3, 20232 yr Mandel is a moron who signed a deal with Texags because he thought they were good journalists. Is this true? lol

And then you fucking find out that the guy dressed as Santa is actually your old neighbor that your parents asked to play Santa, and that birdshot fired out of a .22 can in fact break the skin, putting to rest the bullshit your older cousin told you, and if Texas was left out, it’d be just like you losing your .22 for a year because of bullshit about not firing a gun in the house or at people, especially WWII vets, and you have to do a shit-ton of chores and a paper route for a year to pay for the trip to the ER for the neighbor. Yeah, it’s that feeling.
December 3, 20232 yr Mandel also has his finger on the pulse of the CFP discussion more than any ESPN or CBS talking head. It's a bad sign.I don’t like her but Heather Dinich is in Grapevine and talks to the CFP. She knows more than anybody, especially Stewart Fucking Mandel. It should be: UM, Wash, UT, Bama It will be: FSU, UGA, Adams College, Minnesota State

December 3, 20232 yr The committee has to talk about the fact Alabama was one Hugh Freeze brain fart from a loss to lowly Auburn, late in the season.
December 3, 20232 yr If they want to pick the best four teams, it's Michigan, Texas, Alabama, and Washington.
December 3, 20232 yr Well this is the scenario I put forth early this week. Let’s see if the committee does the what they are supposed to do and put Texas in.

You can start with his predictions about how strong the PAC 12 remainders would be in their tv negotiations and work backward. Edit - unless the committee is blind or were fast asleep for the last game, it was obvious that FSU doesn't belong in the top 4. I agree with what LT just posted - they'll put bama ahead of fsu but behind UT, just on the eye test. Edited December 3, 20232 yr by Chopper
December 3, 20232 yr I want to feel confident but I also can’t see the committee leaving an undefeated team out and I definitely can’t see them leaving a sec champion out.

December 3, 20232 yr Popular Post I’d like to throw a new name in the playoff discussion: Oklahoma. Only team in the nation to slay two conference champions. Undefeated season minus a couple of meaningless weeks. May have recently learned how to run the football at the expense of defending an offense. Just a thought.

December 3, 20232 yr All this Mandel bashing is appreciated, but his initial point that the committee can sidestep the H2H argument by ranking Bama 2-3 spots ahead of us is definitely plausible. Our main hope is they decide a QB-less FSU would be overwhelmed in a semifinal.

December 3, 20232 yr No kidding. Either some pro-Texas folks are in the committee or they aren’t. Texas vs World once again.

December 3, 20232 yr They’re going to “aw, shucks” FSU into the playoff because they won the weakest P5 conference and then we all have to watch FSU get absolutely dumpstered by Washington or Michigan when they could have had a Texas/Michigan or Bama/Michigan slugfest or a Texas/Washington rematch.
December 3, 20232 yr Woke up much less confident than I was when I went to sleep. The thing is we just don’t know how the committee is gonna handle it. But the games on the field have to matter, otherwise what are we doing.

H2H this year suggests they aren't the weakest conference.
December 3, 20232 yr Popular Post Here's how it will go down. Michigan, Washington, Texas, and Florida State go to the playoffs. The only debate in the committee is whether Texas or FSU is the 3 seed. Texas wins the national title and heads to the off-season with scoreboard over the SEC champ, the Pac12 champ, and the B1G champ. And all is right with the world

December 3, 20232 yr I think FSU is the most deserving at no.4 but definitely not the best 4th. Their best win is LSU, who BAMA beat along with GA.

Texas checked off all the required to do things but the selection committee will find some lame reasoning for not picking them that they will repeat over and over while being unable to logically defend. They already showed this when they ranked Oregon over Texas based on “eye test” despite all metrics favoring Texas. Hope I’m wrong but they already showed their propensity to see only what they want.
