However, Coach K Court has a more grainy look, and I agree with you that it looks better. yes, something like this would be a big time upgrade over what we currently have.

November 7, 20232 yr Author you get the sense that this team has a BMW-style flair for the dramatic. we’ll have to reel it in at times, but this could be a really fun team to watch, even for neutral observers.
November 7, 20232 yr Author this is a really good passing team. shedrick’s ability to distribute has been a revelation. a lot to like about all of the new faces so far.

Shedrick looks like he has more game than I thought but it is UIW. It does make you wonder if just being in UVA's system limited his abilities. They play a very ugly style of basketball. Shedrick playing in a run-and-gun offense like this after UVA must be hilarious. Edited November 7, 20232 yr by Rickylovesweed

I'm very curious to see if, collectively, this style of play outlasts UIW, and if Shedrick's versatility does as well. Edited November 7, 20232 yr by MuellerHorn
November 7, 20232 yr That offensive rebound and subsequent 3 is textbook Brock. That is why I love him getting 20 mpg.

Abmas and Hunter were damn good that half defensively. Completely disrupted UIW on the perimeter. Yeah, I thought Max was going to be a defensive liability, but so far not so much. My expectations for this team are growing

November 7, 20232 yr Abmas, Hunter and Horton are going to give teams issues. All 3 are capable of going off from 3 on any given night.
November 7, 20232 yr I really think this team has the potential to be better than last year’s team. It is better constructed IMO. The bigs should be a significant upgrade if Disu can come back healthy. And the guards can all score and play defense. The wildcard will be Mitchell. He was basically a non factor last year. This year he could be an absolute monster. I actually love him playing the 3. He is moving around extremely well and will be a matchup problem at either the 3 or the 4.

November 7, 20232 yr this is one of the better openers that i can ever remeber. team looks electric and dynamic. i can already tell that horton is going to be one of my favorite players. i'm pumped.

November 7, 20232 yr I loved Timmy, but at times he felt like a tampon in the toiletAgree 100%. I always felt bad about not liking him being on the floor because he seemed like a great dude. And his stats were decent. But I thought the team played much better with Brock getting his minutes.

Teams win these days by having shooters all over the floor.
November 7, 20232 yr We are much better off on the interior this year … bishop gave effort but was not a presence like our two bigs tonight … and those spells with Cunningham at center and Timmy at power forward sucked last year
November 7, 20232 yr Author this. team. can. pass. we already knew that shooting and defense project to be strengths this year, but if this team is really going to have 4-5 passers on the floor at all times then yeah, we’re going to challenge for some real hardware.
November 7, 20232 yr 3 minutes ago, TexArcher said: I'm gonna go out on a limb and say there aren't 17 better teams than Texas. I always feel at the beginning of the year and we play crap teams, that we are world beaters. But this team has a lot of balance and talent at all positions. But we’re gonna need somebody to step up and be our Rice, an attitude finisher guy.
November 7, 20232 yr Team definitely feels salty and bouncy as hell … it’ll be nice to get Disu and Max on the floor together building some chemistry
November 7, 20232 yr Abmas is an even better closer than Rice IMO. He shot ~92% FTs on volume last year (vs. 86% Rice). He should fill that role exceptionally well. Also I want to reiterate how great a hire Frank Haith was. I mean really really great hire. He is going to have a tangible impact on the offense this year. That was a coaching upgrade.
November 7, 20232 yr The nice thing about this style of play is recruits and transfers want to play like this. Shedrick can be a real selling point.
November 7, 20232 yr Like the Rodney Terry hire or not, the OVERALL coaching talent on this team is exceptional IMO.
November 7, 20232 yr Horton may be our leading scorer because teams are going to swarm to Abmas and Hunter. Horton can really shoot from 3 and he's missed a few tonight that he can normally hit. Horton with 17 points tonight.
November 7, 20232 yr See... yall mocked me for putting Perryman in lineups. Now he is out here draining 3s. Lol.
November 7, 20232 yr Horton has a little junkyard dog in him. I like having bigger guards like that who can play multiple positions. I think Mitchell is going to eat into his minutes when Disu comes back and we go bigger.
