Texas Tech had maybe the most favorable draw in the Big 12.

No OU, No Iowa State, K-State at home, and played most of the game against the 3rd string QB for Kansas.

Texas Tech's only win against a bowl eligible team is Kansas by 3 with a walk-on FR QB for most of the game for Kansas.

We are going to fuck their shit up.

(am I doing that right?)

Maybe we'll beat them 35 1/4 to 21 1/4

Contain Tahj Brooks and this will be a sleeper. Morton not bad but doesn't have enough weapons to throw to.

They won’t be able to run on our Dline. Destroy them.

Hmm, I wonder why?

You are right about the schedule.  LO-fucking-L at the QB comment.  Tech has played virtually the whole Conference season with the QB2 and at least one game with the QB3.  If the coaches weren't dumbasses and didn't play Tyler Shough as if he were Derrick Henry, it would have been nice, and all that is weird AF, because we do in fact have a stud RB1 in Tahj Brooks.

It's been frustrating as hell from our perspective too.

Texas covers, if not doubles up the spread this week.

slorch, you’re a good man. But this week fuck your entire alma mater to oblivion.

Counterpoint - they play us. Pretty rough draw based on that alone.

Iowa State wasn't expected to be any good this year and received ZERO votes in the preseason AP poll. They've only been in the top 3 of Big 12 standings twice since 2010, so it's not like they're a perennial contender. Moreover, they ended their season dead last in 2022.

Big 12 schools that were expected to be good based on preseason AP votes:

Rank 11 Texas 882 pts

17 Kansas State 501

17 TCU 416

20 OU 296

Texas Tech 101

Kansas 10

Baylor 3

OSU didn't get any votes either, but we'll throw them in since they're usually a contender.

So, if we're talking about a schedule that's set in advance, "tough" conference games for this season were expected to be for each school:

ISU 7 "tough" conference games (3 on the road); 4 ranked at the time in AP / 4 currently ranked

vsOSU, @OU, vsTCU, @Baylor, vsKansas, vsTexas, @KState (avoiding none)

KSTATE 6 (4); 2 ranked at time / 1 currently ranked

@OSU, @Tech, vsTCU, @Texas, vsBaylor, @Kansas (avoiding OU)

BYU 6 (4); 3 ranked at time / 3 currently ranked

@Kansas, @TCU, vsTech, @Texas, vsOU, @OSU (avoiding 1: KState)

UCF 6 (4); 2 ranked at time / 2 currently ranked

@KState, vsBaylor, @Kansas, @OU, vsOSU, @Tech (avoiding 1: Texas)

TEXAS 6 (2 1/2); 3 ranked at time / 2 currently ranked

@Baylor, vsKansas, vsOU, vsKState, @TCU, vsTech (avoiding 1: OSU)

KU 5 (2); 3 ranked at time / 4 currently ranked

@Texas, @OSU, vsOU, vsTech, vsKState (avoiding 2: TCU, Baylor)

TCU 5 (3); 2 ranked at time / 3 currently ranked

@KState, @Tech, vsTexas, vsBaylor, @OU (avoiding 2: OSU, Kansas)

UofH 5 (3) 2 ranked at time / 3 currently ranked

vsTCU, @Tech, vsTexas, @KState, @Baylor, vsOSU (avoiding 2: OU, Kansas)

TECH 5 (3); 2 ranked at time / 2 currently ranked

@Baylor, vsKState, vsTCU, @Kansas, @Texas (avoiding 2: OU, OSU)

WVU 5 (3); 1 ranked at time / 2 currently ranked

vsTTU, @TCU, vsOSU, @OU, @Baylor (avoiding Texas, Kansas, KState)

OU 4 (2 1/2); 2 ranked at time / 2 currently ranked

vsTexas, @Kansas, @OSU, vsTCU (avoiding 3: KState, TCU, Baylor)

BAYLOR 4 (2); 2 ranked at time / 2 currently ranked

vsTexas, vsTech, @KState, @TCU (avoiding 3: OU, OSU, Kansas)

CINCY 4 (1); 2 ranked at time / 2 currently ranked

vsOU, vsBaylor, @OSU, vsKansas (avoiding 3: Texas, Tech, KState)

OSU 3 (1); 2 ranked at time / 2 currently ranked

vsKState, @Kansas, vsOU (avoiding 4: Texas, Tech, TCU, Baylor)

At the time of scheduling these games, I'd say that Okie Lite got the easiest schedule with their only "tough" conference road game being @Kansas and most likely the same to close out conference play. OU got off surprisingly light as well. Iowa State will easily have had the most difficult one.
