You look at OSU over there and it's all about the tradition of being a man and 40.

Opening statement praises crowd, he watched the broadcast version and it gave him a different perspective on the atmosphere. Says Oklahoma State and Gundy/Ollie present a real challenge, needs a good burnt orange contingent in Arlington.

Said he didn’t care about whether OU or State, but kinda fitting we play when we weren’t scheduled.

Says defense and special teams were dominant Friday.

When asked if deserving of CFP discussion, spicy Sark replied, “Why wouldn’t we be?”:

Praised RB room, did a self assessment, comments now on program morphing into a yearly championship contender.

Everything comes across better when you are winning, but Sark really seems to hitting his stride in these press conferences.  Just comes across as genuine and seems to be pulling all the right levers for the program.

I think he is genuine, but he also isn't showing up there trying to push some weird agenda (ala Herman) or to dismiss fans as being too demanding (Mack Brown) or just plain lost (Charlie Strong). But yes, winning helps a lot.

Sark is just money in these things. Really thoughtful guy. We are kinda lucky.....

Sark said OSU is good at adjusting and plays well in the 2nd half.  Expect chard fought game.

Have to keep their running game collard up.

I really do like him, and I want to root for him even besides the benefit of us winning football games.

So I've got to keep that in check when talking about him and projecting where the team will be; if you want something to be true, it's easy to fool yourself into thinking that it is true.

We're still a flawed team. IF we win the Big XII CG (it really comes down to how well each team's QB protects the ball), IF we get into the playoffs, I don't expect us to win. Ewers still makes some poor decisions and has pretty bad pocket awareness, and our secondary remains vulnerable to the level of passing attacks we'll see at that level.

That Romaines to be seen.

And at the same time be aware of the short passing game when the RB leeks out of the backfield.

What does a snowman shopping for a carrot have in common with Mike Gundy on the sidelines?

They are both picking their nose.

Let’s just hope they haven’t employed Kale Gundy to steal signs

He's articulate and answers the questions posed to him without intentional evasion.  Seems like a smart genuine leader - I have to think the players love to play for Sark.

I'll be the first to admit that I was not high on the Sark hire, but I've come around to being a really big fan in a large part due to the above.

Texas is definitely the beneficiary of whatever epiphany he went through to conquer the demons that drove him to drink.

Yeah. Would hate to see us yet again start with a big lead, then our defense starts to leek; next thing you know, we've artichoked the lead away.

I mostly agree with you.  I do think a focused Texas team should be able to handle Okie Lite, but I don't expect it to be a perfect game.    If the scheme and execution is on the same level it was against Tech and ISU, we should win.   Our defense is good enough to keep us in any game out there, but the offense would need to click perfectly twice in a row for us to win two playoff games.

Yeah, but will the fans turnip?

Same here, wasnt thrilled about the hire and the way things went year one didn't help that at all. He's steadily improved the team and so far met the most optimistic expectations this year, exceeded mine.

Yes.  Texas fans traveling well is parsnip for the course.

Honestly as long as we play a good clean game and don't give the refs excuses to throw suspect flags like ruffage the passer.

Pretty much all college football teams have flaws and there have been plenty of very flawed teams with national championships.  That's the beauty of college football.  A bunch of 18-22 year old guys are always going to make things a bit unpredictable.  If we get into the playoffs, this team could absolutely get it done.

One thing’s for certain, it’s thyme for us to win the championship on our way out the door.

Maybe, but I think it's gonna be chili this weekend.

It sucks that we may not make the playoff even with a dominant win this week. If only we had beaten Okrahoma.
