December 4, 20232 yr congrats to Coach Choate. does he stick around for the playoff run or leave immediately?
December 4, 20232 yr I was hoping he would stay one more year, but no. Good luck to Choater--just don't take too many of our support staff. So, who's next at LB Coach?
December 4, 20232 yr Popular Post Promote Bo to co-DC, give him a fat raise, and find a young whippersnapper who can recruit to coach the LBs.
December 4, 20232 yr Popular Post Success means coaches leave. Good luck coach! Thanks for all the work to help rebuild the program.
December 4, 20232 yr I guess programs trying to poach your staff comes with success. Good luck to him. Replace him with another killer and keep rolling.
December 4, 20232 yr Congrats, Coach! Hope you're able to stick around for the next five-six weeks though.

December 4, 20232 yr Yep, losing coaches to HC openings elsewhere means things are going very well here. I don't think Sark will have much difficulty filling this post, or any other that becomes available, with another badass. Good luck, Coach Choate!

December 4, 20232 yr Regarding Avalos, Boise pulled the trigger pretty quick on a guy that was a player & assistant at Boise and went 10-4 just last year. They aren't going to handle a slide back to mediocrity well.

Well Sark finished out Alabama's national championship run in 2021 before taking up being Texas HC full time. But maybe being Nevada Head Coach is just much more time consuming than being the Texas Head Coach. You tell me since you seem to know exactly how coaching job transitions work.

I don't think so. new head coach gig, you gotta get to work hiring staff, recruiting, etc. Huge salute to Choate who took a demotion (but not a pay cut) to be part of Sark's staff, and really improved our LB play and talent while here. 10 minutes ago, Davis Lane said: he's a great position coach, maybe even coordinator

We didn’t hire Sark until after the bowl game (and pretty sure Bama had already won the semifinal). We didn’t hire him on December 3.

December 4, 20232 yr Someone remind me, was Choate the guy Sark went after following the Dildoeater Stoops fiasco?

With the obvious agreement that he come here once Bama's season is over. And the only reason we didn't hire him until after the bowl game was because, you know, we had one. Nevada doesn't. But I don't know why it wouldn't be the same deal.
December 4, 20232 yr I always said once Sark starts a coaching tree that means Texas is back at the top!! congrats!!! I trust Sark to make a good hire, remember when we lost Stan Drayton?? I think Sark made a pretty good hire as well as Marion. i think we’ll be alright

December 4, 20232 yr Jeff Choate was an important “culture” hire, IMO. He brought a lot of experience, stability, and winning to the program. I am sure we can make another good hire, but we will miss him.
December 4, 20232 yr Choate was a HEB knothole kid like me. He will always be alright just for that. But he's done a damn fine job as LB coach. That Ant is off ballin like a MFer is truth. And was mentioning Blackwell's recent play as well...dude's light appears to have come on.Hook'em coach!
December 4, 20232 yr Am I wrong for assuming Payam Sadaat will be promoted from analyst for the remainder of the season? Granted it was at the FCS level but he’s coached LB’s.
December 4, 20232 yr Time to find a fiery D1-AA head coach from a good team! who’s North Dakota States coach??
