October 30, 20241 yr Man, I always had a thing for her. I remember as a kid first seeing her in Oh God. I thought she was a hot older woman. She was like 33. Then again seeing her in Mr. Mom solidified my thinking how hot she was. I read years later that she was one of the background teen dancers on the “T.A.M.I” show in 1964. Side note, look that show up. Essentially a great TV studio set live concert show with some great bands and singers like The Rolling Stones and The Beach Boys. James Brown was outstanding. Story goes that The Rolling Stones followed after Brown and Mick Jagger had to be forced to go on because he basically said fuck that I’m not going on after that (Brown’s) performance.

She'd have a Seinfeld-style-interview (an interview about nothing) and banter with Dave and it was fun, he'd get her and the audience to roll laughing about whatever, and that was good content-- it worked. Maybe that's why she was a guest with Dave so much. Then again, maybe she just liked how Dave's freezing studio (for Dave's comfort, the studio lights on him made him overheated without having a cold studio) made her feel, or something. Lulz.
November 5, 20241 yr Felt like Hollywood prematurely locked Teri Garr into supporting mom roles by the early-mid 80s. Sure she was 40 but her talent was more than a handful of scenes. But perhaps MS was taking away her ability and confidence to carry a movie as easily.

Quote Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with Liam Payne's death, Argentina's National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office announced on Thursday. In a statement, officials claim the three suspects engaged in "illicit conduct" and "were charged with the crimes of abandonment of a person followed by death, supply and facilitation of narcotics." Authorities determined the former One Direction singer fell off his hotel balcony on Oct. 16 in a state of "semi or total unconsciousness." For the first time, the prosecutor's office said they have ruled out "self-harm of any kind" or that a third party was responsible for Payne's fall. In the Nov. 7 statement, the prosecutor's office said a "detailed analysis of more than 800 hours of video footage" from security cameras helped lead them to the arrest of the three individuals. One defendant who accompanied Payne "on a daily basis during his stay in the city of Buenos Aires" is charged with "the crimes of abandonment of a person followed by death." A second person is a hotel employee "who must answer for two proven supplies of cocaine to Liam Payne" during the singer's stay at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel. The third deferent is "a narcotics supplier," the statement alleged, and that person is accused of selling drugs to Payne two different times on Oct. 14. "Both were charged with the crime of supplying narcotics, two acts each," the statement read. Prosecutors also revealed that toxicology tests confirmed Payne was under the influence of drugs "in the moments before his death" and for at least three days leading up to the incident. He had traces of alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant in his system. Authorities say Payne "was not fully conscious or was experiencing a state of noticeable decrease or loss of consciousness at the time of the fall." Payne's cause of death was from "multiple trauma" and "internal and external hemorrhage" as a result of his third-story fall from the balcony of his hotel room.

So if they schedule Eddie Murphy but his plane is delayed or he has a family emergency or is just drunk, they can call up Teri Garr or Don Rickles or someone and keep the show going. I'm assuming this is why Jimmy Fallon seems to have a lot of SNL people on his show when they don't have a big movie coming out.

November 12, 20241 yr Quote John Robinson, the veteran football coach who enjoyed many years of success at USC and with the Los Angeles Rams, has died. He was 89. The Rams on Monday confirmed the death of Robinson, a member of the College Football Hall of Fame for his two successful tenures at USC. He died in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, of complications from pneumonia, USC said in a release. Robinson also became the winningest coach in Rams history during his nine-year tenure with the NFL club. Sean McVay passed Robinson's career victories total only last month. Robinson is high on the short list of football coaches who enjoyed significant success in both the college and pro ranks, going 104-35-4 at USC and finishing his NFL career 75-68 with the Rams. He was particularly dominant in bowl games, going 8-1 in the postseason at USC and UNLV. Robinson coached at USC from 1976 to 1982 and again from 1993 to 1997. He never had a losing record at the school, and his Trojans won five conference titles and four Rose Bowls. Running backs Charles White (1979) and Marcus Allen (1981) won the Heisman Trophy while playing in Robinson's relentless rushing offenses. Robinson moved to the Rams in 1983 and reached the playoffs in six of his first seven seasons, winning four playoff games and advancing to two NFC championship games.
