Pat Sajak should build a shrine to Chuck's stupidity. NBC and Merv Griffin are who screwed Chuck out of the Wheel of Fortune gig. Chuck asked for a raise to what Richard Dawson and Bob Barker were making. Griffin agreed to pay most, and NBC said they'd cover the rest. But Griffin threatened to move WoF to CBS, then NBC pulled their offer. After that, Woolery's contract wasn't renewed. Politics aside (I dont care for either Chuck or Pat), but Chuck was a far better host than Pat. Edited November 24, 20241 yr by Burt

I don't think I've seen him or heard from him in probably 30 years.
November 25, 20241 yr I'll confirm the Woolery bad stuff. It was known. He died happy, now let's move on.

November 25, 20241 yr Chuck Woolery played a race tv announcer in Six Pack. Anyone in a movie with Anthony Michael hall and Diane Lane, in their teens, as a NASCAR pit crew is ok by me.

Growing up Holliman was one of those guys that you recognized on many tv shows or older movies. I distinctly recall him as the cook on forbidden planet. He asked Robby the robot to duplicate his pint of Kentucky bourbon. Robby came back with many pints. I also believe he was the star of the twilight zone debut episode. Lived to 96.

December 1, 20241 yr I just watched the 30 for 30 about Big East basketball yesterday. Had to google to see if he was still alive. I feel partly responsible for this. The Big East of the 80s was so damn fun to watch.

RIP, Lou. I will die on a hill saying that the Chris Mullin-Patrick Ewing era was the pinnacle of college basketball. It felt like ESPN had a colossal Bkg East game every other night, or the ACC did. I concede that I was 12-13, and couldn’t get enough of college basketball at the time.
