Charles Osgood gone @91

He was so good.

Our beloved former ‘Sunday Morning” host, colleague and friend, award-winning journalist Charles Osgood, has passed away at age 91. During a career that spanned nearly 50 years, Osgood worked on virtually every broadcast within CBS News. Here’s a look back at his storied career.

Melanie Safka, widely known as just Melanie, has died at age 76. She performed at Woodstock at just 22, and her distinctive voice and emotive lyrics have left an indelible mark on the folk and pop music scenes with "Brand New Key," and "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)."

But he has to pare that list down to 8 of the originals and add someone under 40.

Normally, 10.  But since you're paying $50, you can submit 14.  But, like Macanudo said, you'll need one of those to be under 40.

I don't know any celebrities under 40 who have any serious illness, so I randomly chose Tom Felton.

By the way, how can I pay $50?

It goes to the wreath fund, PM @immamac

Well, that sucks:

Carl Weathers has died. He was 76. His family issued a statement:“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Carl Weathers. He died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 1st, 2024."

This hurts 💔! RIP. I remember watching some special perhaps on Arnold and how when he made Predator he would always watch Carl’s scenes. Said he wanted to be the type of actor Carl was. You will be missed. Towel thrown! Fuck. Andre Braugher was also a gut punch. I really love the Rocky movies but Predator is absolutely one of my favorite movies. I even own the crappy Action Jackson movie with a little known Sharon Stone at the time. RIP! Ride the Lightning ️

Let's be fair, his fastball wasn't all that.   But he did have a nice curve ball and changeup.

Wayne Kramer was a revolutionary artist who walked it like he talked it. His own incarceration gave him an instant bond with the prisoners he helped through his leadership of Jail Guitar Doors USA. My thoughts are with Margaret and their son Francis https://t.co/RRh5IadrFM
RIP Wayne Kramer

Something tells me 2024 is going to be a tough year. Lot of legends are going to be on these pages.

Always a lot of legends going out every year.  You're probably just older so more and more they're YOUR legends.
