December 13, 20232 yr Good voltage, checked it. Also, checked out a few YT videos and did the broomstick and spin it and also put a 1/4” Allen wrench in there and spun it. According to the internet the motor is screwed. Just checking to see if I am missing anything?

December 17, 20232 yr If it hums it has power. Kill the breaker/or pull the plug whichever applies in your case and check for motor continuity. If there is continuity it is jammed.

December 18, 20232 yr We had to replace ours this summer after the motor burned out. Went thru all those same steps. Fortunately replacement won't be too hard. Good luck.

Agree. If you can remove and replace a cracked manifold on a 305 Chevy small block V8, then a garbage disposal is a piece of cake. No really, it's pretty easy. I replaced one at the old house and it took me about 30 minutes.
