All the stupid horns are on the LaVega side.  Their fans should all be asked to leave the stadium.   If you can't behave yourself, you need to go to the car.

Damn what a run by Carthage. Not sure Waco will have the horses to keep up with Carthage for the rest of the game.

I remember when Rockdale and Taylor were big rivals back in the day before Taylor went up a class and the rivalry kind of went away.

Back in her day Georgetown was Taylor’s biggest rival according to her.

I was barely aware that Taylor existed in those days.

That would make sense considering Georgetown was a small town then!

Little remembered fact about Pflugerville’s Class B football winning streak:

The Panthers have an interesting history, garnering national attention with a 55 game winning streak in football between 1958 and 1962.

YARN | You must have been something before electricity, huh ...

La Vega should have punted, they only kick it 25 yards anyway.  Would have been perfect.

He also averaged 46.9 points per game in basketball last year. Playing basketball and football for Wyoming next year.

Haven’t looked the big uglies, but all of the stud skill players for Carthage are Juniors. Damn.

Old Waco High School had 6 titles. There were 3 high schools in Waco prior to consolidation in the 80s and what is known as Waco High School today.

Regarding 4A, the high school I went to has been in that classification or it’s re classified equivalent for well over 40 years. We used to play La Vega in District back in the day. Still do under current alignment.

Dad’s DeSoto team traveled to Waco and played Waco University, around ‘82 or 83, in a preseason scrimmage. During pregame warmups,at midfield, one of their players came over past midfield at hollered “We ficking to hit!” Yes “ficking.” Didn’t help them, as if I remember they didn’t even score.

As a junior high kid, son of the HC, and “manager” I was there and heard it all. At least once a year over the decades, one of us has said that phrase over phone calls or in person during a football season.

Hook’em!!!

Also, not sure if confiscated or shamed; but no vuvuzuelas to be heard.

Also has a kid... he's an overachiever for sure.

I really miss these games being on Fox Sports SW.  I have not seen one since that channel became Bally's.  Looked today and it's now Fan Duel Southwest?  lol.  On Direct TV and Fubo...

I downloaded the app on my roku tv and signed up for a free trial. I'm in California but I put my parents zip code for my home zip and am watching with no problems

In the stadium, they had a graphic that Celina‘s population was like 43,000, and on the next screen they had Kilgore‘s population at 13500.

No shenanigans at all with those attendance numbers up in Bobcat Country.

SOC is playing that new Richmond Randle team that knocked off my kids’ Boerne last week. They have two interior D-Linemen that will be playing for D-1 schools next Fall, to just name a few.

Boerne was pretty good again and trying to reach Jerry World for two in a row, but the game wasn’t even close against Randle.

I wondered about Celinas population vs enrollment in a previous game…. seems the answer is a ton of Celina is in Prosper ISD.  Thats how it was explained to me

This is correct. A good portion of the city does not fall into the school district. We also have far more elementary kids than high schoolers. It is a town that attracts young families.

Yep. He now has the most ever by any coach. And has never lost a state game, 10-0. Legend.

Prosper ISD has four elementary schools in Celina.
All those Northern burbs ISDs have schools in numerous municipalities.

why the 'mecca' ?

I think it's a local thing.  Like saying they're the best in Dallas.

Somebody told me they borrowed it from Howard University.

also means shitty special teams

I remember when Richmond George Ranch rolled to a state title right after opening before moving to 6A and dropping off. Looks like the formula is repeating

Richmond Foster did the same as far as winning right out of the gate.  Cee Dee Lamb helped with that success.

SOC doesn't have a great offense.  If they get in too much of a hole, they'll be in big time trouble.

I have never seen two grown men stand around with their mouth wide open like Jason Todd and Reginald Samples.

It’s crazy. Mouth wide open is their natural disposition. And double nuts that they’re both coaches in DFW.

SOC needs to stop trying to run b/t the tackles. As I stated earlier RR’s interior DL is stout!

Hook’em!!!
