August 4, 20241 yr Author The wild thing about Faulkner is she was only there because Knibb had good dense and withdrew. USAC is such a bunch of fucking bumbling idiots.
August 4, 20241 yr She pulled to the leaders and just blasted them through the turn. One of the more impressive cycling performances I’ve seen. ( excluding my own obviously )
August 7, 20241 yr Just now, Hornius Emeritus said: Phil Liggett retires. A legend for sure, and he was the best for many years, but has been showing his age lately. Time to relax and enjoy the sport without the pressures of commentating.
August 7, 20241 yr I haven't seen anywhere that Phil is retiring from all commentating, just Olympics. He has been an incredible commentator and its strange to listen to live road race commentary without Phil. He has been slipping a bit in the last couple years of the TdF, but I'll be sad when he's no longer there.
August 7, 20241 yr Author It's somewhat bitter sweet, as I like old Phil, but he has not been a top flight commentator in quite a long while. That said, Bob Roll and the rest of the clowns NBC hires are way worse, so I'll stick to my Euro coverage regardless.
August 14, 20241 yr Anybody else watching TdF Femmes? Kristen is in the mix after 4 stages 47sec back. Don’t know how she will hold up in the big mountains.First few stages through Rotterdam were cool. Always enjoy watching because it’s like a travelogue through interesting places.Peacock also has the documentary “Uphill Climb” about the pioneers of women road racing. The woman were tough as hell. Mucho respect. Didn’t realize the first American to win the TdF was a woman.

August 15, 20241 yr I didn't know she was racing in it. I will follow it more now.Crazy stage today resulting in a big shakeup in the standings. Kristin up to second 19s down.

I'm just getting caught up now, been in Italy and Switzerland doing actual riding myself. Looks like all the marbles tomorrow between Demi and Kasia. I'm not going to lie either, the women are more fun than the men in a lot of ways. Much more unpredictable.
August 18, 20241 yr McNulty wins the first state of the Vuelta. USA! USA! USA! https://www.bbc.com/sport/cycling/articles/ced12ljxxjvo
August 18, 20241 yr The TdFF havig a stage for the ages todayWow. What an effort. I’m in love with Kasia and Demi.

August 20, 20241 yr Author I volunteer to apply it. First mountain day of the Vuelta today, should be interesting. Hot as shit too
August 20, 20241 yr I volunteer to apply it. First mountain day of the Vuelta today, should be interesting. Hot as shit tooYeah 11 more days on my Peacock subscription. Getting my money’s worth.
August 23, 20241 yr Just got back from Colorado wasn’t following the La Vuelta. Checked in here to see not much discussion about the race so far. It should be interesting to backtrack to see how Ben O’Connor leads the favorites by five minutes after six stages.

August 24, 20241 yr Wout again. Incredible ride by Kuss to set him up. I loved what Wout said to him there at the end "I'll never forget that."
August 25, 20241 yr Roglic put the hammer down today and put some significant time into O'Connor. Tomorrow will be a huge challenge.
August 25, 20241 yr Holy Crap what a stage. I think this is THE stage of the Vuelta, the Queen stage. Roglic and Mas are going for it with everything they've got. So far O'Conner is okay but damn.

August 29, 20241 yr What did he get back today? Like 40 seconds? I have a feeling it's going to be very close by the end.Yeah 37 sec.
August 29, 20241 yr Author The thing that is still hanging out there is the inevitable Roglic day off. Without Kuss to drag him, we could still see him set back quite a bit. The real dangerman right now is Mas, who looks fantastic.
August 30, 20241 yr 43 minutes ago, G650 said: Primoz chose violence today Yep. Impending doom and death by a thousand cuts for O’Connor. McNutty looked rough coming in, but amazing he was still able to finish as part of that group.

That could have been way worse for Brandon. It was a relief to see him climb up over the guardrail and look reasonably coherent.
September 3, 20241 yr Poor Wout! Heartbreaking to see him perform so well and then go down in a crash like that.
September 3, 20241 yr Author Crazy BOC hung onto to red one more day, incredibly tight. Super gutted for Wout, dude has had the worst luck this year. He looked really bad there too
September 3, 20241 yr That team...I'm not sure what they did to anger the Gods this season but they are freaking cursed. Gutted for him as he's an amazing talent and a very likable guy.
September 18, 20241 yr Wout re-signs with Visma. Will end his career with the team: https://www.bbc.com/sport/cycling/articles/cn4z2n78212o

Very interesting thing to do and makes an emphatic statement. Visma have been losing riders over the last year and aren’t the dominant force they were in the last few years. It will be interesting to see what they had was temporary or if they can keep attracting strong talent.
September 22, 20241 yr Author Sucks not getting live images on this, but some drama for Remco in the TT
