December 21, 20232 yr just pulling this from Eater's article "What restaurant or restaurant-related debut are you most excited for in 2024?" - thought there would be a thread I could necro but don't see anything so creating a new one. link: https://austin.eater.com/2023/12/20/24008936/anticipated-austin-restaurants-2024-year-in-eater most mentioned places are the upcoming Leroy and Lewis B&M and Bambino (pizza spinoff from L'Oca d'Oro) - both of which i can't wait to visit. if anyone needs a reason never to listen to Jane Ko again - who used to be good - this is your sign:

May 14, 20241 yr Went to this place on Sunday... really nice. They were a bit overwhelmed with the Mother's Day crowd buy good food and very reasonable prices. https://www.austinchronicle.com/food/2023-07-14/rose-gose-brings-continental-flair-to-austin/ Next to Jewboy Burgers on Airport.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely check it out. I love reading their story.

October 8, 20241 yr And, a very good dinner at Rose Gose on Sunday. They were dead! I hope that is just because it was Sunday.
May 20May 20 I realize the cost of eating out in Austin has been creeping up for a while, but take a look at the balls on these guys. They just opened up in the same spot next to Roaring Fork that Reds Porch and that Brazilian pizza joint bombed in. The location is a restaurant death trap, but holy shit are these guys proud of their Chili's like menu. And their beer list would shame any generic airport lounge https://vidaverdekitchen.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Lunch-Dinner-1.pdf I probably should have saved time and posted in the "old austin remembered" thread, as making it 2026 might be a stretch.
May 20May 20 A brief glance tells me their enchiladas are priced like Fonda San Miguel. Somehow I think they probably don't measure up.
May 20May 20 There's so much wrong with those prices for a fucking burrito, lulz. Edited May 20May 20 by Blotto

Maybe they are just trying to provide consistency with Q2 stadium prices.

Did you ask about their seasonals?

October 29Oct 29 Y'all, go hit up "Bread Boat" on 7th street, in the center near where Salt & Time used to be. It's a Georgian place, specializing in khachapuri: Nice indoor seating and a great little patio. Have eaten lunch there a couple of times now, it's damned good. And really ideal as colder weather comes in. They've got some hustle, they're really Georgian, they're proud of their product, and it's absolutely real-deal legit.
October 29Oct 29 How's their wine? My sister in law lived in Dubai for 10 years or so and would go to Georgia on long weekends just for the wine.
December 5Dec 5 Bread Boat is so good. I work with one of the owners at his "day job." One of the nicest guys on the planet, honest and hardworking, and really dedicated to the quality of the food. The khachapuri (bread boat) pictured above is really special, and the kubdari is quite tasty as well-- it's a meat pie that's kind of like the Georgian version of a calzone. They have a beef stew that's really good too, especially now in the colder weather. But the cake... the cake might be the best thing they have.
