Eat 'em up, Cats! The prestigious ServePro First Responder Bowl game thread, ESPN, 4:30pm

Just rewound to the beginning, and saw ESPN take a shot of the Rice head coach. Unfortunately, the man shown wasn’t the Rice head coach. One of the pitfalls of bowl season, spreading the TV talent and tech people thin.

Texas State works fast…

Dumbass personal foul penalty by Texas State's #11 sets up 1st and goal for owls...

Rooting for the Cats. My wife is one of the prouder graduates. She worked in their SID department while she was in school.

I can't tell you how many SEC games I've missed watching Texas State Sunbelt games on ESPN+ instead.

Texas state has hot bitches. I banged a few between the great years of 1997-2001. If any of you have a mom that never told you who dad was PM me.

#13

that's a TD.  because of my wife, i must cheer for Rice.  too bad JT Daniels isn't healthy.

glad there's some good attendance at this otherwise pointless bowl game.  (then again, 90% of them are pointless, but this one especially)

Two Texas bird opponents' bowl games are tonight: Owl and Jayhawk*

*Jayhawk actually means slavery hater, not actually a bird. But since they now use a bird logo, they're birds to me.

I like how it’s the “ServPro First Responder Bowl but we’re not actually sponsored by ServPro but by a really specific job search company for medical jobs called StaffDNA Bowl”

Going into or out of one of the break, they mentioned a possibility that the aggy m8ght not have enough players for the bowl because their all jumping in the portal.

Eat'em up cats!

The Rice players should have spent less time playing school and more time playing football.

Like Joey Hobert's brother, if he had one

Finding out that he's Billy Joe's son was one of the most savage YOU'RE-FUCKING-OOOOOOOOOLLLLLD moments of my life.

I've watched Hobert a lot this year. I'm not going to compare him to other white slot WR's, but I think he'll make a NFL team.

He's really fucking good.  Great hands.  Good route runner.   Coach on the field!  Not near the meathead that Billy Joe was.

Pretty good crowd. More than they get for most SMU games. Not a lot of effort by the bowl committee as end zones have SMU and Mustangs and they didn’t even fully erase the Mustang at midfield.

What's the Bobcat-to-Owl ratio in the stands?

#31

Lots of Texas State fans at the game.  I've heard the stadium has already run out of alcohol.  Can anyone confirm?

#32

Texas State obviously intimidated by those big Rice brains giving up 30 yards on penalties on this drive.

#33

This ref, man. Fuckin' Elmer-Fudd soundin' dude.

HOWDING ON THE DEFENSE, NUMBEW EWEVEN. THAT PENAWTY IS DECWINED; FIRST DOWN

~4 or 5 to 1 Bobcat to Owl. Around 25,000 or more (seats 32,000). East and South stand all Bobcat. West about 3/4 Owl. Crowd definitely in to the game.

Damn if I didn't know any better I'd think one of these schools had much higher admissions standards

BS penalty. He didn't know that ball wasn't live.

Now 45 yards in penalties on Texas State this drive.

The cats are impressive. Wonder how long Kinne is gonna stay there

No kidding. Rice beat the premier in-city Big 12 program.

Seeing the #TXST side of Ford Stadium is already out of beer. Not even halftime yet. Light work for the Bobcat faithful. Well done.

Texas State took action during this lul period before the Bobcats play in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl against Rice on Dec. 26 to sign Kinne into a contract extension that will pay him a $1 million base salary plus incentives. The boost in his contract makes him one of the highest-paid coaches in the Sun Belt Conference.
