I was wondering why the line opened at 17 or whatever it was. UNCG is way better than UTA and that line was only -15.

UTA did get their best player back a few weeks ago when the two time transfer rule went away. Phillip Wilson, who is averaging 17.7 points through 3 games but is a huge volume shooter (45 FG attempts).

I think the defensive effort has been good again today. UTA has hit a couple 3s that were contested from beyond NBA range. Surely, those won't keep falling.

This is why we need Horton to get some confidence on defense. He's a zone buster. UTA went zone and Horton hits a 3.

Is uta really this good from 3, or is this just another case of teams playing Texas can't miss from deep?

They're currently at 50% from behind the arc

Texas not rotating and closing out at 100% so that helps the 3 point percentage for UTA at the moment

This team is so schizophrenic from game to game, and even from possession to possession. They look like they've got it all figured out, and the next time down the court they look totally clueless.

Abmas setting up and heaving bricks 6 feet behind the 3 point arc when there’s 10 feet of open space in front of him is a head scratcher

Wide open look, coach!

You have a weird hate for Abmas. He was by far our best player that half. 8 points and 5 assists.

Also, that UTA run started with Abmas on the bench.

Mitchell only played 10 minutes that half due to foul trouble.

The issue defensively is when he goes to the bench. We need his length on the perimeter. The 3 guard lineup doesn't give us enough length on the perimeter defensively.

Except they're making them on a regular basis

Dsiu still working to find his rhythm. Last year he was always hitting that little shot in the key. He's missed it several times today.

Terry looks really frustrated with the team

It would be nice if Horton could figure out how to be just an average defender because he can really shoot from 3.

D is not good today.  too much reaching and not enough moving feet.

O is meh.  Horton showed up and thank goodness for Abmas.

Not a weird hate … I just expect him to be a lot sharper decision wise due to his experience and pedigree as a transfer … call it high expectations / tough love … I’ll root for him every game, just hoping to see some 5th year senior leading ncaa scorer pedigree and poise bubble up to bring this teams mean up several notches … his inconsistency is frustrating for me but I’m a demanding old bastard at times.

Abmas to the bench. No Hunter or Abmas will be interesting again like it was the 1st half.

Abmas already back in.

Have to play him with no Hunter today.

Shedrick and Disu should apologize to Abmas after this game.

Should have 15 assists in this game if they would finish inside.

If a guard is going to play D on Shedrick you gotta get him the ball

the little dude was fouling the crap out of Shedrick.

Some of this garbage that is going in for UTA is ridiculous.

They've hit 2 or 3 shots where they weren't even looking at the basket.

i haven’t gotten to see a ton of the game but i have seen abmas splash four catch and shoot threes. he’s got to be shooting like 60% for the year on those shots. glad to see he’s getting plenty of them today.

The way UTA plays reminds me of a Shaka team. I forgot that UTA's coach is a former assistant of Shaka (KT Turner).

While UTA is hitting some 3s today they take terrible fucking shots. This style of play is not sustainable at all where you jack wild 3s quickly in the shot clock.

Sloppy defensive effort...

Early B12 conference play gonna be tough.  Keep workin' and improving Horns

Probably not a bad thing that Hunter was out.

Horton was able to play a lot of minutes and looked pretty good today. Hopefully, that builds some confidence.

I got it at -17.5 this morning so….

Yeah it crept up to 18.5 prior to tip. Brutal beat.
