January 1, 20241 yr Common practice in resorts in Mexico and Hawaii. People using towels or other material to save seats by the pool. Sometimes for hours on end. is this ok? Imo I think it depends on how long. Anything over two hours is game
January 1, 20241 yr If you’re putting your towel down cuz you’re getting a drink or getting in the pool then I see no problem with it. If you’re out and about that’s obviously different
January 1, 20241 yr If its you and you SO or a kid then OK. If it's your extended family or 8 couples each with two kids. Fuck you I dont go to resorts anyway

Fine to do it if you’re actually in the pool or just ran to get a drink or something. You don’t get to fence off lounge chairs all day for when you feel like coming by.
January 1, 20241 yr Saving while you have breakfast or lunch is ok. But, those fuckers that walk down there at 5 in the morning to put a towel or book down and then go back to their room until late morning or early afternoon can fuck off. One of many reasons I don’t do resort pools either.

Maybe you’re coming back, but you went and did something else. Your chairs are fair game. The chairs are there to be used and if you’re not, someone else should.

It’s your chair as long as you remain in the pool area - in the pool, at the bar, going to the bathroom. Once you leave the pool area for good, it’s fair game.
January 3, 20241 yr I can only speak of the Hilton Resorts but you are not allowed to reserve them. It's first come first serve, being a diamond member notwithstanding. I also notice they enforce the rule as folks who string out 5 towels across seats or cabanas are asked to remove them.
January 3, 20241 yr Thank you for offering to save the seat for us for five hours. That's a very generous offer, but I promise that is about 4 hours, 58 minutes, and 20 seconds longer than we'll be gone.

January 4, 20241 yr Saving pool chair is like saving chair in restaurant. Only time it's ok is if it is in use or will be within a few minutes (bathroom, grab drink etc). Doesn't happen, but is how should be for in demand items.
January 4, 20241 yr Talk about your “First World Problems”! Are you worried the poolside sommelier won’t be able to find you before the bubbly goes flat?
January 4, 20241 yr I have noticed that there is almost always ample seating available around the pool at the La Quinta in Lafayette, or the Days Inn in Beaumont. I don't understand this issue that y'all seem so concerned about. You pick up some White Claw at the quickie mart around the corner, head poolside, and soak up the atmosphere.
