I want to thank Coach Terry for pouring his heart and soul into this program. He was forced into a tough situation and did a damn good job. I wish him the very best.

I don’t feel any sympathy for him. He got his dream job, and was paid well for 2 seasons while doing a poor job. He’ll now be paid handsomely to go away. We should all be so lucky.

Coach Terry decided along with CDC that he should be fired?

What if he had disagreed?

That just strikes me as weird to put in an official statement.

It was this kind of agreement.

Love "socially liberal" guys always blaming domestic violence on the woman

i blame all violence on the person who started the violence. if she happens to be a woman, she happens to be a woman. if it’s bad for a man to drunkenly follow a woman all over the house (as she begs him to leave he alone) berating her, agitating her, and eventually smacking the glasses off of her face, then it’s bad for a woman to do that too.

i honestly don’t know what world some of y’all live in, but women can be violent too, women are grown ass adults, and women should be held responsible for their own behavior, and not protected from accountability because of some self indulgent need to seem and feel like you’re virtuous, when in reality you’re just enabling an entire class of fully grown adult human beings who should be held accountable for the violence they inflict on others. just a super controversial take, i know.

Unless you are protecting yourself or a loved one, you shouldn’t assault women.

Not sean miller, just bring back Beard

When Nahlin posted in IT a couple of months back that Beard was still with his “fiancée”, I cleansed my head of all “what could have been” thoughts. Waste of time. Can’t work.

I never said she wasn't at fault as well, just that the entire blame is shifted on her very often.

What will happen is they'll end up with someone like Sean Miller who will have them competitive, somewhere between a 3 to 9 seed most years, and the occasional sweet 16. The university needs to decide if they want to go all in to win the final piece of the men's money sport national championships, or if they're content to be good and make the sweet 16 most years while putting in all the money into football and baseball.

This is a tired fucking take. Nobody is weeping. It's tough to lose a big job with national attention. It's public failure.

I doubt he or anyone other than the tough guys even think in terms of sympathy or give a rat fuck about yours. I don't feel sorry for him, but I've failed before; it sucks. I empathize.

I agree with you, but it’s really, really difficult to get everyone else on the road to cooperate.

If two lanes are merging yes. A merge isn’t whipping into an exit or turn lane at the last second.

that's the "we are going to say this in the statement and if you agree to that, you will get your big check" part of the negotiation.

The PR people and these generic statements are disingenuous and fall flat. Best for admin not to say anything except thanks and best wishes. I’m sure this was not a brainstorming session, “ so RT, what do you think we should do here going forward?” Nonsense.

Yes because this is 1952.

Terry must have known he wasn't the guy to take us to where Texas wants to go as a program. He has been a team "Texas First" guy for a long time, and in return, Texas has rewarded him handsomely. He has earned more money in the last 3 years than he or most people could have dreamed of in a lifetime. There shouldn't be any hurt feelings on his part, if he is being honest to himself.

Any apologies from Dick Vitale, Jay Bilas or any of the other national sports talking heads who guilted us into keeping him in the first place?  I didn't think so.

love you RT, and i thank you for your many years of service to the University and to the hoops program. no UT fans will ever forget the elite 8 run we made under your watch after a tumultuous period in our program’s history. appreciate all you’ve done for Texas. Hook Em. 🤘🏼

I don't think RT posts here.

so we’ve had several posts in here recently alluding to RT being a crappy person who abuses his players behind closed doors. anybody want to expound on that?
