I want to thank Coach Terry for pouring his heart and soul into this program. He was forced into a tough situation and did a damn good job. I wish him the very best.

I have to applaud Terry for wanting to leave no doubt that he should be canned this year.

They're in love with Chris Beard since his quote at halftime against Kentucky that referenced Bobby Knight.

I would bet almost anything Beard is not the coach at Ole Miss next season.

They like a coach who is not afraid to lay hands on the neck of another person.

Every time I think RT maybe turned the corner coaching this team, they manage to play like ass long enough to blow a lead or get so deep in a hole they can’t come back.

Undisciplined play with no discernible offensive or defensive philosophy.

gonna be hilarious seeing all the talking heads that said we had to hire him, go radio silent.

I really want to tweet at Jeff Goodman and Jon Rothstein about this as they were 2 of the biggest talking heads saying to “do the right thing and take the interim tag off of RT.”

Dickie V was doing this too.

yep Dickie V was cheerleading like crazy.  I'm just hoping that I am reading the message in the contract CDC gave Terry correctly.  He had a couple of years and if it wasn't trending well the buyout was easy.

Dickie V is a senile catchphrase machine. No one should take anything he says seriously.

I wont sweat the coaching hire. My go-to guy would be Lloyd, but even with the financial shitshow going on at UofA, there's always the possibility of some alums sweeping into save the day with a fat check. But I have faith that CDC will get it right. Thats what he does. That Zona-Tech game tonight should be a good one.

Also, fuck Dickie V. He's been a clownshow for at least 20 years now. I'm glad the cancer didnt get him, but if I never have to listen to another asswhip broadcast with that buffoon, that would be fine with me.

To be fair to Dicky V, he is a clown and nobody should take him seriously.

He's back today calling the game of his beloved Duke vs. Clemson.

You don't have to watch of course, just a heads up.

We could lose by 40 for the rest of the season and it's not happening.  It doesn't matter what fans think.

Think about the prospects of this team if they didnt beat the Aggies. There would be almost a 0% chance to he make the tournament.

There’s no one saying they took him seriously but guys like Goodman and Rothstein are big names that were screaming to hire RT and take the interim tag off. They should be ridiculed.

Nah... some posters just live in a state of open mind due to drugs, alcohol or both. 😋

Oh yeah, the talking heads, including Dickie V., were primarily responsible for causing the groundswell that landed RT the job. Luckily for them, there is no accountability, so they can push whatever agenda they might want to push. People yielding to their pressure unfortunately have to live with the consequences.

At the end of the day, the buck stops with CDC. Im gonna give him a pass on this one, but it wasnt one of his brightest moments. It is a black eye on an otherwise sterling resume.

I think the buck started further up the ladder than CDC.

UT doesn't like bad press or any bad looks when it comes to these kinds of things.

I hear you and I understand the optics of the situation, but I dont think that is a particularly good thing that a university is making decisions that they hired their AD to make. In fact, to me, that seems like a poor strategy for long term retention of the AD.

Not a black eye at all.  He played the hand the way he had to play it

The hand was always going to be played that way, whether it was CDC's decision, or if he had help.

I think he consulted with the higher ups before it was made.

Has RT been fired yet?

Yes.  Yes he has.  The top candidates to replace him are Jerry Gray and Duane Akina.

Dickie V was one of the reasons I fell in love with college basketball. And also one of the reasons I stopped paying so much attention to the game.

Stop talking about a mid season firing. There is 0% chance of that. 0.

He's been one of the best ambassadors for the game that we've ever seen.

If you don't believe that then you really don't follow the sport.

This isn't 1980 anymore. The novelty of hearing him scream diaper dandy PTPer incessantly with the occasional interruption to suck off Coach K or Jimmy V  has worn off. Everybody I know hates that dude broadcasting a game, even though they don't hate the guy. It's a beating listening to him do everything but talk about the fucking game.

No, but that SHOULD mean that we're at least already working on the next coach now*, so that the hire can come as soon after the firing as possible.

*And by "now" I mean "months ago, if not longer."

Vitale doesn't scream anything, anymore, as he's been inhaling poison in his body via radiation for a few years now.

No one is talking about whether or not he's a good analyst anymore. But the energy, passion and support of and by him for the game over the four decades is unmatched, by anyone. I never cared much for Vitale on the mic. But I love the sport and no one has supported it more over years.

Anyone who doesn't and can't acknowledge that is a fucking uninformed and unbridled idiot.

Not a single person here knows what CDC is already doing behind the scenes

Players come and go, coaches move around, Vitale was one of the constants of CBK for several decades. I put him below Raferty as far as analysts goes but Wally’s right about DV being a great ambassador for the game.

CDC isn't worried about RT he's looking at houses in Preston Hollow.

Is Indiana a better job than Texas in this current landscape? No idea what their NIL situation is but I’m assuming it’s pretty good because it’s Indiana, but they also haven’t been consistently good in a long, long time.
