Hmmm, both LSU and A&M in the market for a transfer portal QB, wonder who has the advantage there.

Neither team wanted one, neither team got one.

Advantage: A&M

Can we add all the money that's supposed to fix the
roads in our state to the NIL fund?

If they had money to fix the roads, why the fuck the roads so fucking shitty?

- Dixon just glosses over the fact that LSU came up about 10 million short on Underwood and couldn’t match.

- Blames being caught flat footed on the scoop because the family didn’t  tell the LSU staff. Ignores what’s the Michigan mods have been saying for months. There’s always 3 sides to a recruiting story. Friendly staff, competing staff, and the recruit and his camp. If you only work the friendlies, you’re going to get egg in your face

- Urges his readers not to panic because a fucking group chat is uniting the commits. This is some TexAgs level bullshit.

- LSU staff is working hard to keep everybody in the boat. Liking Coach Bo or Coach Raymond doesn’t mean shit if LSU can’t field a competitive NIL offer

- Assigns no blame to Kelly. For crying out loud, the buck stops with CBK. How he largely skates is baffling. It’s like Woodward is privately begging LSU media to not turn the temperature up because they can’t afford the buyout.

- Doesn’t give them hope with any big, unlikely name.

- Makes excuse after excuse about his lack of NIL knowledge. Well shit buddy, that’s your job.

- Ignores poster after poster telling him he got it wrong. At least have some balls and ban them and/or fight them in a Home Depot parking lot

Dixon is unprofessional, uninformed, and incompetent. He might be less employable than Brian Kelly.

This sounds hilarious, what's the story behind fighting in a Home Depot parking lot?

Well, now they have 1.5 million more to shore up the rest of the class. That ought to getter done.

Looch challenges “keyboard warriors” to fights in the TexAgs parking lot about once a week.

I think the legend goes that he challenged to fight Fat Ketch the Cedar Park Home Depot parking lot.

I think LSU is uniquely fucked on Kelly’s buyout because they don’t know what there operating expenses will be post House. Normally, most big SEC teams would eat the buyout, and then hire a much younger and cheaper staff to replace him.

That said, it’s the most corrupt state in US History, and they can find equally unique ways to steal, graft, and defraud to raise funds.

thisis******stupid.wespendmoremoneyon coaching salaries than about anyone in the country. we've been cheating for 100 years and signed top
classes. our facilities are top notch.

Remember that guy who was on this forum declaratively telling us that LSU had plenty of NIL support and was always going to get theirs? I can’t really remember his handle but he was hilariously wrong and if he is still posting, he needs to be mocked for being an absolute clown. LSU has been beaten since NIL like a borrowed mule.

I guess Kelly’s gambit of paying a bunch of guys for commitments early and then hanging on for dear life might be a little flawed. Who could have predicted that?

We don’t have much to complain about in that regard anymore.

I endorse this plan.

I see on multiple message boards this idea that teams can afford the failed coach buyout, or the big NIL, but not both. The assumption being that the source of both is rich boosters?

Question- it’s not illegal to pay coaching buyouts out of regular AD funds (recognizing they would have to show a “loss” on the books, that would have to be covered by regular university funds, which is an awful look). When are teams going to do that? (Private schools can probably do it without telling anyone).

A school like LSU could pay Kelly’s buyout with university funds, and weather the media shit storm by firing the Athletic Director, right? And then apply booster money to NIL (along with whatever AD allotment the House allows)?

You think the public school in the poor AF state with poor AF alumni is swimming in academic funds?

No, I don’t. But, it’s Louisiana. I have no reason to doubt that they would redirect mid eight figures from legit academic needs, towards football, if that was the only way to compete.

I’m telling you I don’t think they have mid 8 figures to redirect.

its not the will, it’s the means.

They've got Joe Brady's playbook, so they're all good.

That was absolutely hilarious. He truly believed that Coach O was building a dynasty at LSU, and Joe Brady’s playbook being called by some geriatric also-ran would take them to the promised land.

Florida did it correctly. Half assed Kiffin back channeling, receive a resounding no, pivot to coaching doesn’t matter if you have good players, direct all available funds to NIL + beat LSU and they get a nice little pop in recruiting.

Meanwhile at LSU, their AD and SID are telling their media they can’t do shit about Kelly until 2026. Their fanbase feels like they’re in hell and are actively melting down for well over a month.

Messaging, and of course winning a rivalry game matters.

I will never root for an OU win, but holy shit. Blowing out Bama with that shitty OU team is hilarious. I didn’t get to see any of it, and I cannot imagine how that could have happened. Did Milroe throw 3 pick sixes?

It was an ass kicking and the score could’ve been worse if OU wasn’t total ass. It felt like they dominated them from the 2nd quarter on. Milroe couldn’t do anything and their receivers couldn’t catch anything. Everytime I looked over I swear Jackson Arnold was running for a first down

Milroe completely lost his mind, and the rest of the team (outside of a couple obscene Ryan Williams catches) looked like they were deep in Iron Bowl prep and weren't able to get into dogfight mode.

Very fun night between that and aggy.

He can be our annual WR offering in the portal from Bama/Georgia for 2025.

Can we get some Georgia screenshots up in this bitch?

Here are some from SEC rant. These dipshits are in complete denial that Kirby built that program on dropping bags. It's unbelievable.

Georgia is doing it the right way. All class and fiscal responsibility.

What a bunch of whining hypocrites.  Maybe they're not outbidding anyone NOW.  But that's because they're poor, not principled.

They were absolutely outbidding schools when it was just them and a handful of other dirty cheater programs dropping bags in the pre-NIL days.

Maybe that's still the Lacey long game

One of my favorite arguments from people regarding NIL is that prices will stabilize at some point.

Prices aren't going to stabilize until there's some kind of transparency and enforcement mechanism limiting payouts, or the whole system comes crashing down in some kind of existential way.

This is how markets work. Especially markets that aren't exclusively tied to monetary incentives. There's a lot of emotion around our favorite school doing well that goes beyond return on financial investment. Just ask Phil Knight for one. What else is he going to spend his billions on that will bring him more satisfaction than Oregon's first national championship before he dies? How does that work with fiscal responsibility?

People talk about how a more reasonable sentiment will prevail when money is spent on players that don't pan out, but that's not how it works. It especially doesn't work that way when the teams that dominate the sport have the highest payrolls. That says if you want to compete you better be spending the money.

We're like Rorschach in Watchmen that's been put in the SEC, and is now letting all the inmates know we're not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with me.
